He has too high an opinion of himself IMO. Guys like Giggs and Scholes had long United careers by being (a) very good and (b) working very hard at staying that way. Brown was never really good enough for the starting XI and now he seems to view anything other than MUFC as beneath him, having won most things by being in the squad.
We're undoubtedly a step down from MUFC, but at this stage in Brown's career we are a very decent move for him. Despite that, it looks like he's been a bit sniffy at the thought, so stuff him.

I would definately, and i dont agree that he has never been good enough to get in the 1st team.
2007/08 he started 49 games 34 of those in the PL and was used as a sub 7 times, twice in the PL.
yes he has had injuries and yes he has had stiff competition with Evans and then Smalling coming through, never mind Vidic and Ferdinand.

I think this is a very interesting statistic, says a lot about the influence he could have.
Also, we don't know for sure whats going on behind the scenes re him not wanting to come (or thinking hes above SAFC). All we have are conflicting paper stories about him not wanting to uproot then the next day saying he will. I can remember a few years ago when we first went infor Malbranque, all the papers were saying he didnt want to leave London. Well he did and although you can argue about how successful he has/hasnt been I dont think many could question his commitment on the pitch or his professionalism off it.
He wouldn't be my first choice signing but I'd love to see him as his experience will be invaluable on and off the pitch;I never thought that I'd see the day when we could be so choosy .
I'd have him. I am worried about his fitness tho. He is a very good professional, so if he comes, he will do the best job he can.

This is my major concern about signing Wes. We've suffered enough with injured players, without adding to our woes.
Yes, he is a good defender, but so was John Mensah and we didn't keep him because of his injury record, so I don't understand the thinking behind this signing.
