    Looks like it's being confirmed that he will leave at the end of year. Not surprised and should have happened a while ago tbh but I'm glad he's not going to be properly hounded out. Had a huge impact on both Arsenal and the English game in general and hope he's remembered for all the good he did.

    His teams were always a joy to watch. Even - in fact especially - when they were prone to crumble due to lack of backbone.

    Not sure I agree with this little snippet from Kroenke taken from the article.

    "His longevity and consistency over such a sustained period at the highest level of the game will never be matched."

    <rofl>

    I don’t want to hear Arsenal fans moan next season if it doesn’t go their way.

    It won't go their way mate, the new guy will need a year to settle, at least.

    Interesting to see when they announce who is joining. Surely they wouldn't release this info without already having a replacement?

    Consistently Meh.

    Thats like saying I am consistent because I manage to walk without falling over on my face when I get up.

    And thats not the part thats the issue, it was the part about his consistency and longevity not being matched.....well it has, and it has been bettered. <doh>

    If they had said something like, "his consistency at the highest level over a long period of time was amazing" or something like that, then i wouldn't have an issue with it.

    He was revolutionary in his early days. But the game always evolves, moves on, and he either didn’t or wouldn’t recognise that.

    The irony is that his managerial achievements are likely to be much more appreciated throughout the rest of the country than in the capital ...

    3 EPL titles (including 2 doubles) and 7 FA Cups ... plus a team that went a whole league season unbeaten ... that is truly a phenomenal managerial record by anyone's standards <ok>

    To put that into real perspective ... over the same period Spurs and Liverpool combined (arguably clubs of similar size and expectation) have won 3 FA Cups (all Liverpool) ... OK Liverpool did have that 'winning' Champions League draw (penalties win) in 2005 (not forgetting that it came courtesy of a ghost goal in the semi) ... but just imagine how much Wenger would be getting pelters if he'd won a trophy in such a fluke fashion? ...

    ... but winning a league can never be fluke ... best over 38 games says it all and only United and Chelsea have bettered Arsenal under Wenger ... City have now equalled it but look at how much money they have needed to spend to do it <ok>
