From what I have seen and read I would presume his relative lack of pace is something other clubs do not want. Beyond that, I have no idea. He has been consistently a very good player for Leeds over the last 4 years with a great eye for goal.
lacks pace, simple as that. its a risk but we've taken a few risks on players of this age and this potential and they've all come off, so i'm happy to go with this one. he has flair and ability in abundance, but the lack of pace does leave me with a 5% worry in my head. michael turner is also on the way for a medical so that's two new signings hopefully sorted!
just to add to that re: snodgrass, he is quite useful playing in a number of positions so his lack of pace might not be such a concern depending on where he plays, but i'd imagine he'll be used mainly right wing.
What does "lack of pace" actually mean? A lot of players are plenty quick over a short distance, but can't sprint half the length of the pitch. The ball moves faster than any player and can be moved very quickly among "slow" players!
don't expect him to run at speed! he is tricky and can beat his man with a trick, so hopefully he won't need any pace, but he does look like he runs in quicksand
The lack of pace will help him at the back end of his career, hes had to focus on using his skill to take it past players unlike someone like Walcott who is absolutely shocking technically he just belts it past the defence and chases after it this is good while he can run but what happens when he slows down? Snoddy is better than Howson trust me if you look at my opinions on the other leeds lads you pinched I am always right haha You will really love him
Well the're pretty convinced oop north that it's now virtually a 'done deal' http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...-quits-leeds-as-norwich-stump-up-3m-1-4772742
grant holt doesn't have much pace - he did ok didn't he? i guess you can't have everything in a player, so his trickery and crossing ability make up for it. a quality addition (and michael turner looks good as well)
cheers mate - always respect your opinion on (y)our players! if you think he's better than howson then we are in for a treat. howson totally dominated the 2nd half against celtic last night - class act
thing is, if snodgrass had pace then he'd be playing for man united or barcelona (who had him on trial not so long ago). most players we buy are going to have a slight drawback somewhere along the line or we wouldn't be able to get them!
yep agreed, looking forward to seeing him in the yellow and green. like i said the other day after the discussion around what CH had said about being patient on transfers, it'll be like buses, you wait a while and a couple come a long at once
Howson and Snodgrass stepped a league below to play for Leeds United so I will not slag them off for wanting to go to the premiership. Its 4 years today since we signed Snoddy Also must be noted if he stays off the drink (which I think he will to be a prem player) he could really improve his pace
ah, i'd heard he was a drinker. lambert was pretty relaxed about players going out and having a good time, so long as they got the result on the saturday. not sure how hughton works in that respect but i'm sure he'll fit in well at the club if he likes nandos
again, this can only be based on his errors when dragged out wide. have you seen him make a mistake when in the centre? all his mistakes have come about because he's had to cover in wide areas. if that's not his strength, don't let him do it! let him play in the centre and the centre alone and he's a very capable centre half and easily good enough to be our fourth or fifth choice.
