As per usual, nobody is allowed a different opinion to you without you getting out your pram about it. I've said he's good, I just won't out him up there as the best ever until he's done it with a team that isnt way way way better then all the rest on the grid.

Would he have won as many races and as many titles if he wasn't at Mercedes... I highly doubt it

How have all his co team mates done over the years with use of the very same F1 car? <doh><doh> I forgot it’s the car and not the driver <doh><doh>

so its nowt to do with the car then?

ok you win
If it was solely down to the car, how come none of his team mates over the years have come anywhere close to matching his achievements? As Al mentions - Hamilton lapped his team mate yesterday who was also driving the same car. Nothing to do with ability?

I'll preempt this by saying I don't give a flying **** about racing car drivers. It's just not my thing.

My real thoughts though are about successful people who choose to live wherever they want. A beautiful place, with a great climate, maybe.

It doesn't necessarily make you a tax dodger, does it?

Maybe you just want to live in a lovely place.

Like Brid or somewhere like that :emoticon-0105-wink:

He could live in lots of more beautiful places than Monaco. But they don't have the tax advantages Monaco does.
Not as many retiring to Brid now. They all want to experience the beautiful Hull coast.

Pretty sure Hamilton pays tax as a UK employee and is actually in the top few percent of tax payers.

I'm not a fan of F1 but there is something sinister about the hate Lewis Hamilton gets.

So what if he lives abroad? If that was any of your mates you'd be happy for them that they are able to live abroad.

I've never said it's just the car have I? I'll say it for a third tine for you....he's obviously a good driver BUT would he have won the amount has if he raced for haas for example? I think we both know the answer

And as others have said, he just makes himself so unlikable.

Your forgetting the racist hate of him as well, what is it with the British to hate a very successful sportsman, Beckham gets similar ****, so what if he’s a bit of a dick, he’s officially the best F1 driver ever, suck it up haters/****ers
One man's meat is another man's poison.....It's not racist to have an opinion,or is it?,(I'm beginning to think it might be)?

For every person that likes Lewis Hamilton, there's another that doesn't? I'm not keen on him,not knocking his achievements, not racist, not jealous, couldn't care where he lives, not particularly fond of F1 nowadays!! It does concern me ever so slightly that a man earning in excess of £50 million per annum can wear a chain round his neck in condemnation of slavery, yet would take the coin by endorsing Hugo Boss product?(Hugo Boss who designed the Nazi party uniform)?

Not to mention mercs links to the Nazi party and use of slaves.... As I said before he's a hypocrite and is fine with certain things as long as he's being paid millions

Does he take money from any companies that currently use slaves or make Nazi uniforms? Why, instead of siding with him in condemning slavery, are we trying to find issue with a man who condemns slavery? Bizarre.
Are there still slaves being taken to the West coast of Africa?

We cant just signal out Hamilton for not paying Taxes !
Dont nearly all F1 drivers avoid it ?
Button and Mansell certainly did .

Those people saying it’s the car! The reason the car is so good is because Hamilton has spent thousands of hours test driving it and requesting changes to suspension set ups etc. Makes his achievements even greater in my opinion. I’m sure if he wasn’t 35 and had time on his side, you would see the same results happening at another team.

Hamilton will suffer from the same issues that all the great drivers do, the accusation that without the car he/they had that the wins and titles wouldn't be there. Whether you see this as right or wrong, this challenge will never go away for any of the F1 greats and unless there comes a time where F1 cars are on a level playing field it'll never be any different.

...and yet there's Senna, Schumacher, Hunt, Clark, Moss...

Quite worrying some seem to be inferring it’s because of Hamilton’s colour he’s not liked. I don’t like him cos he comes across as an arrogant prick. Maybe he’s lovely in real life. MaYbe he needs to put on that persona to keep him at it and keep his hunger?
reminds me of Faldo a little, not liked but respected as a great champion. Piggott quite similar.
Ferguson is another **** I can’t stand because of the way he behaved, great manager all the same. But a right **** in my eyes. Mourinho too.

Stick me in that car and I’d win 10 x F1 titles back to back.

FACT.

Absolute joke of a past time.

I know I’ve banged this drum before but when my doctor tells me to get more exercise and I tell him I do at least an hour of sport a day I imagine it would go like this;?

Oh really Carmine what sport would that be?

I drive to work and back.

Oh well done big man, that’ll do you the world of good. You might want to double up and start playing chess as well.

Get to ****.
Dr Shipman replied, well done driving an F1 car and losing 4 kg in one race, easy dieting, lucky for you plod didn't see you doing 220 mph with a force if 8g's on your body, now **** off cupid stunt.! :-)

They did. And I think that was wrong. Maybe why he hasn't got a knighthood. Though tax avoiding Sean Connery and Mick Jagger did, and I don't think they should have done either.
