Well didn't we only stay up because of another 3 teams who were worse than we were? Isn't this what happens every season in every league?
I always thought that a team stays up if they are better than 3 other teams, which is what has happened to us this season.
Premier league, Cup Final and Europe - all those long held dreams have become reality. Thanks to Mr Allam, Steve Bruce & the players for this sensational season. Roll on "Abide with me".
To be fair, the right teams are going down. The goal differences of the bottom three stand out from the rest.
I concur, waiting for this ever since that first taste of a Tiger adventure began way back in 1967. WOW, finally, we can be proud of our heritage and the club we have always cherished has finally come of age. Well done to everyone, Steve Bruce, The Allams, the players, and all the backroom staff that have made it happen. And all our fans around the world. We are now well and truly on the (European) map.
I like that sentiment. I never dreamed of a season like this in my wildest dreams. However, it is my bloody luck that it happens after I leave the country LOL
On a week end when Hull City secured another season in the Premier League and qualified for Europe for the first time in their history the local BBC sports news on Sunday night mentioned and showed clips and interviews with non league Grimsby, ditto over Scunthorpe Utd, briefly mentioned the two Hull RL clubs losing....................and completely ignored any mention of Hull City.
Saw that. I wonder if up in the North East, they omitted mention of SAFC winning at Manchester, but highlighted Darlo and Hartlepool's results with a feature on Gosforth and Gateshead Sharks?
Just saw this & I know it's from the last time we stayed up but I thought it was brilliant &'brought back some memories. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-AULX1LR5s4
Speaking of Gateshead, interesting to see that Hull FC are within one match of getting back into the Football League? Or have I got this merger thing wrong again? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27193080
Cheers funky - see you next season Hey are you in the Europa League as well - and do you have to play qualifiers ?
As soon as I saw the name Marwood playing for a team in the North East, I thought there was a pretty good chance he would be some relation of Brian, so just googled it and it turns out it's his son. No doubt I'll now get a load of responses questioning how i didn't know that already but I genuinely have never heard of him.
I didn't rate Bruce before he came to us, but how wrong was I? He's not only delivered with his signings and performances, but he's a joy to listen to post match, we've never had it so good.
