Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure you would, you're nothing but an internet hardman. Stooping so low that you have even put ArtieZiff's comments on your username. Don't impress anybody just make yourself look like a disgusting coward.
I agree that they were shameful comments. However with Cests WUMming nature, he is susceptible to comments like these from idiots. However he is man enough to take them and not care.
Enrique wanted to go, would've been free in the next window and we got £6m (recouped all our money on him) Carroll was sold for a Premier League record and wasn't massively overpriced - simple business. Barton went for free 'cause the club didn't like his attitude Nolan was getting on and didn't provide enough in midfield, we already had his replacement lined up and he's a better player Given is a sad one, he just spent too long not quite achieving what he wanted...Ask him now and I bet the Aston Villa grass isn't quite as green as he was expecting! Yeah, we sell players, but don't all clubs? Are you a selling club because you sold Anton Ferdinand, Henderson and Cana? I wouldn't say so, I'd say you're just like any other club! As for those comments made towards you, I know you say you don't care but I do, whoever it was who wrote them, grow up and stop acting like such a petulant little ****!
This is the same **** that was spurted when we went down. Our crowds didn't drop massively so now we need to spend years down there struggling to prove our loyalty, or compare ourselves to the 20k crowds prior to KK from over 20 years ago. I don't know maybe our support being so loyal helped us straight back up? Straw clutching stuff really.
Dont worry kidda. It shows a far darker world that he lives in than the one I am happy as a pig in **** to live in. It matters not one jot to me that this poor soul is in such a dark and dank place as to resort to this kind of depravity. I also dont think its a majority of your lot either. I love the banter and the arguments and just ignore the odd plum that stumbles my way. Oh, you've heard then?
To be fair, if your lot had suffered the amount of relegation's we have (I've got 7 of them under my belt since 1975) and also had the humiliation of a 3rd division relegation and 2 record low points tallies in the top flight behind you, what would your fan base be like? Keegan lit the blue touch paper for the mags in the 92 season and generated massive national interest in the club. Attendances prior to that were poor at times or average at best. The fact that we were equally ****e prior to Keegans appointment meant that a lot of 'floating ' voters went totally over to the winning team. We have struggled with that ever since but the fact we can still boast 39,000 plus average crowds today (45,000 averages under Reid) given our last 30 years of abject failure, is quite stunning imo. How many clubs in the UK or anywhere could still command such averages with the track record we have? Not many Warm Pouch. Add to that the fact you have had 100 European games in the last 20 years to shout about, a couplr of runners up spots and regular top 5 or 6 places and we have had none of those, yet we still only average some 7,000 or 8,000 less fans each home game. I'd like more fans to go to our games of course I would, but I cant knock or ridicule those that have stuck by us thin and thinner over the past 30 years. If Martin does for us what KK did for your lot, then lets see how many fans we can attract as well.
I wouldn't knock your support, I think its every bit as loyal as our own. I just think you can only really judge your support at any given point in time rather than looking back over years and years. And I find the suggestion that our current fanbase is fickle as laughable. Our current support has been through plenty with the current owner. Everyone pisses up his back now and tries to say "bet you love him now". Why? He is just running the club in a responsible manner, as any custodian of the club should. Both clubs have amazing support and I have no interest in multiple relegations as some weird perverse test of that theory.
You have to look at history though warm pouch, in any industry, conflict, regime etc, to understand why something may or not be happening today. Our fan-base has been severely tested over 30 years and still come out the other end in huge numbers. I will grant not as big as your own currently or in the last 20 years but as I said, you cant ignore the reason behind this. If we had had one relegation in the lasts 15 to 20 years, over 100 European games and regular top 6 football to watch over the past 20 years, I can guarantee our crowds will be over 48,000 as well and I will conceded that not all of them will be die hard fans. Their money however would be very welcome. Out of interest how many of the say 48,000 you get week in week out are, in your opinion, die hard b&w supporters and how many are plastic fans who would support any team that was successful? Honestly? If you think they are all passionate mags then your conning yourself pal. I think that the mere fact its almost 60 years since you last won a trophy of note and 40 years for us and yet we still pull in nearly 80,000 fans every 2 weeks is remarkable. Both sets of fans deserve medals the size of dustbin lids for endurance and loyalty imo.
I've only been a Toon fan of my own accord for less than 20 years, I was born in County Durham to an Irish mother and a Dad who's parents moved around with the Airforce...I think the only reason I was a Toon fan was 'cause they both met at Newcastle Uni and lived there until a couple of weeks before I was born. I can't comment on the years before Keegan and because I live away from home I can't comment on the fans in the Stadium...Of course some of our fans will be fair weather (I wouldn't say plastic) but you get them with any club. The fact that we've not won anything of note for 40 years, were relegated this time 3 years ago and were 'the laughing stock of the country' didn't put me off one little bit. Yes we as Newcastle fans have had a great 3 years (we've also had a fair few horror moments within that time frame as well) but regardless, I genuinely believe both clubs are every bit as passionate, loyal and long-suffering as each other...It's just North East football! Final point for a bit of proof of our loyalty...Boro won the CC, they got to the final of UEFA Cup, they got relegated at the same time as us, and look at their attendances - THAT is an example of fairweather fans!
