I've downloaded the app but apparently I don't have permission to use it?

I have asked myself if I can and I didn't mind

Any suggestions please?

God only knows.

To be honest I'm sure a 'goody two shoes' that in over 15 years I've only had 1 wrist slap (for using a copywrite image as an avatar for half an hour) and two deleted posts - and they were last night!

I saw a thread where they said someone had been banned and I looked through the thread and could see nothing off topic, I asked what the ban was for, got no reply and this morning the two very polite posts I'd put up had been deleted.
No message.
No explanation.

Given what passed for acceptable on there over the years, it felt a bit bizarre to see a post like "has he? What was that for?" deemed unacceptable for a breach of the rules!

I've been on there about 4 years and got my first deleted post last night.
That prawn oddbod was complaining (on the takeover thread) that smug had got him banned over here for "simply asking questions", I replied, "Bollocks, you got yourself banned"
Post deleted - off topic.
His original rambling post is still there anarl!
Gimps.

now that is another thing altogether, if they randomly choose to delete a post or two in the middle of a 'convo' for want of a better word, then it can make the whole thread appear 'off topic'...have seen a lot of quoted posts when catching up on some threads but the original post has gone, if they are going to sweep up then they need to use a good brush.

The very worst thing I said was in response to someone saying 'you can't compare being in a car crash to being gay'.

I said 'it depends if you've been rear ended' <laugh>
Don't know the full context but in isolation, that is funny as ****.

Surely I was the worst ever...but its 3 years since I was on there so how it is worse
?

This may be a bit late now but may help others and stop some possibly getting them again. The simplest way to initially stop them is to go to the bottom of any email you receive and look at the small print and click the bit in red I've highlighted below

Please do not reply to this email. You must visit Not606 to reply.

This message was sent to you because you opted to watch the thread Serious takeover talk at Not606 with email notification of new replies. You will not receive any further emails about this thread until you have read the new messages.

If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you may
disable emails from this thread or disable all emails.

This will temporarily stop them until you post in that thread again due to the default settings. Go to this link below and see if you've got the box ticked for Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...

https://www.not606.com/account/preferences

If you have it ticked then it will do it again if you still have the 'and receive email notifications of replies' ticked so untick it. You may not even want the automatic thread watching (I don't) but if you do then leave 'Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...' ticked.

To control the various notifications you'll get on here at the top right go to this page and tick the ones you want.

You can see which threads you are currently watching here

thank you mate, much appreciated, I'll give it a go

Evening all, been reading RTG for a few years but never signed up. Seems a lot more civilized over here so I took the plunge. Hope the takeover goes through and I appreciate all the info that is being posted about it. HTL
