Weekender

Ristac not disagreeing just saying how tough its going to be to get some top players in. Clubs in financial trouble are best but the vultures will be there from other clubs. Everyone knows we need players so everyone just puts the prices up, not just in the UK but everywhere.
I agree but I think we’ve put too much time and effort into White. Not knowing what he might cost has slowed us you feel. Normally I wouldn’t care but we know how players get frozen out if they don’t make a preseason under Bielsa

Morning Ristac

No you're right, we haven't many players the top six would want, but the ethos at Leeds is the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, or T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More)

It seems to be working.

Rather have Liam Cooper than £85m :emoticon-0136-giggl Harry 'Billy Big Bollocks' Maguire in the side, banged up for fighting and accused of trying to bribe the police with some loose change out of his £190,000 PW the arrogant twat.

At least our lads (including Ben White) behaved themselves when having a few beers.

I'd be quite happy to face Liverpool with last season's team, even without White tbh. Think Struijk would do well alongside Cooper.

We can't be held to ransom by clubs like Brighton. I'd rather we walk away and stick with what we've got.
Good to see you posting again mate, you’ve been missed <ok>

I think the short break/Covid situation is a disadvantage for the promoted teams. As Ristac says, we’re the ones who need reinforcements in a hurry.

We need goals in the team, we won’t dominate possession week in week out, we won’t create the same number of chances. So we absolutely need to take a much better percentage of the ones we do make. So either Harrison bamford and costa need to improve their finishing which let’s be honest is pretty unlikely at a higher level... or we need some reinforcements in.

presuming we get a quality replacement for white we won’t be whipping boys like norwich. They had a freak season to get promoted where pukki couldn’t miss but they were poor defensively even in the champ.

if we can’t turn our good performances into wins though we’ll be in a dog fight.
I do agree with previous comments that a good team is vital over individuals but I look at Costa, Bamford and Harrison, I think to myself if Bielsa improves each of them another 10% (unlikely in three weeks of preseason) will they be good enough. The answer for me is no. Like you say, they won’t get the same chances or the same possession, they’ll be facing better Keepers and Defenders, we desperately need a bit more quality

Yeh, and I think it’s clear why we were after Benrahma... he’s a costa/Harrison replacement not a bamford replacement... likewise Gonzalez. ‘Wide’ men who score. We need potential goal scorers across the front 3.

Harry Maguire has been charged with attempted murder for headbutting a police officer while holidaying on the Greek island of Mykonos. The size of Maguire’s head was taken into account when upgrading the charge from assault.

“Harry knows he’s messed up,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Soccer on Sunday. “You can’t go around headbutting police officers — especially with a head that size. Apparently the Greek authorities have listed Harry’s head as a deadly weapon, in the same category as machetes and Uzi submachine guns.”

“It is an enormous head,” said the Norwegian. “And with great heads come great responsibility. Should you need a licence to have a head that size? That’s for governments to decide.”

“Harry didn’t choose to have an enormous head,” added Solskjaer. “But he needs to learn how to control it, like Bruce Banner controls The Hulk.”

Lionel Messi has agreed personal terms for a shock transfer to Newcastle UTD, pending completion of the club’s takeover by Saudi investment group PCP. The Argentinian is believed to have been offered twice his current £640k per-week salary.

“I have a contract with Barcelona,” Messi told Soccer on Sunday. “But for sure, playing for Newcastle has always been a dream. Señor Ashley sent me pictures of the beautiful beaches of Newcastle, told me that Spanish is widely spoken, and said it’s only a 10 minute walk from London. Ticks a lot of boxes.”

“I respect Señor Bruce,” said the 6 time Ballon d’Or winner. “But obviously I’d need him slung out on his arse before I arrive. And I’d need it in my contract that the club can’t hire Señor Large Sam.”

“Other than that, it’s Howay the Muchachos, no?” he added.

Other Hockaday headlines I think works are “Shaks enjoys a pint” “Olof has no sense of humour” “bucks isn't Leeds”, “Este says it hot in Spian”
