Not a happy clapper mate just realistic that players will make mistakes and throwing them constantly under the bus serves little purpose <whistle>

I'm fine with players making mistakes. I just call out the ones who constantly make mistakes. I've given Struijk plenty of credit the last month or so, especially next to Rodon, but its clear that he will revert to his mistake ridden ways once Rodon isn't there.

That's largely down to him not facing many shots. When the shots hit the target he's in the bottom 8% for actually making the save. That means 92% of goalkeepers are better shot stoppers. Think about that for a second. Even for a happy clapper like you it should be clear that is something that could easily be improved on.

Viktor Johannson from Rotherham and my mate Toby Savin from Accrington would be a stronger pairing than we have now.
The thing with Meslier is too often he never moves or reacts to shots as they sail past him.

Time will tell on that front but we're currently a better team with Struijk than without so it's a good job he's still around.

Firpo will be next to win your approval at Championship level <ok>

When the going gets tough, Struijk makes mistakes. He might thrive in a winning team with Rodon alongside.

Firpo is **** bud. Ask @blonogasoven.

Meslier is keeping clean sheets because we are often dominant and give few chances away. Doesn't mean he is improving. If we go up, he'll relegate us....again. Same with Struijk.

Subject to any long term injuries we don't need to add to the squad in January providing also that no one leaves. Kinnear said we have 2 loan spots available but it was all subject to circumstances at the time and if we're still in our present form then absolutely no need to change anything.

Plus anyone coming in would want to be a starter and it's difficult to see how that would happen with what we have.

Goalkeeper - sorted
Right back - sorted as we have Ayling, Spence , Shaks & Gray.
Left back - sorted Byram & Firpo.
Centre backs - sorted plus 2 as cover in Coops & Cresswell
Centre Midfield - sorted plus cover in Gray & Gruev
Wings - sorted
Striker - Sorted
Subs - sorted as we have a strong bench now.

I'd like an upgrade on Coops rather than waiting until the end of the season. Great servant but best days gone. Ayling almost in the same boat.

Personally everyone we have played so far We have matched or been better than even with our current squad. We've already got in the bag and done the toughest away games Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton, Norwich. only other 2 teams I possibly rate are Sunderland and Boro. Other than that I don't see anyone else being good enough for top 2 or have the ability to win a playoff. It's all about putting a run together now and closing that gap on the top 2. As of players for this division I'm fairly happy. bringing players in Jan have to be Prem quality because they will be contracted to be playing prem football if we go up which is a toughy to do as we still playing in this league if we go up everything changes. The 2 loan signings we still possess are crucial because they are our key to bringing in Two very good prem footballers with no strings attached. This squad has to stay together for now in my eyes maybe tinker with the out of favour lads. We do need a LB but this player has to be future proof which is quite difficult in bringing in right now being in the Championship. but let's be honest if we do go up we going to need a lot more players than just a LB. Keep as many as we can this season we aint struggling to let anyone go our wage bill is very healthy with all the lads gone on loan. Add the 2 loanees with good Prem players needing to play games, Possibly tinker with the lesser lads if we have too. This squad right now is nailed on for a playoff place. Personally think its still the best squad in the division and good enough for top 2. We have already done both of them on their own patch.

Fair comment but you're talking about our club Captain & Vice Captain there and so rather than rocking the boat these things are sometimes best left until the close season.

However reports have been suggesting a contract extension for Ayling is in the offing which is a minor concern.

Cooper has been loyal and has been a good captain. He's a likeable fella too. I've always had my doubts on his ability but he's gone on to play PL football so he has gotten the most out of his talent. I'm happy for him.

Personally I'd happily grant him the testimonial he so deserves right now and tell him that if there is an offer in Saudi Arabia that he should leave and get his money. We can do the testimonial at the end of the season regardless of where he plays. He deserves his pay day for his family and he won't play too often for us.

No one leaves until replacements are in place and even then I'd still keep Cooper & Ayling until the end of the season.

Luton 1-0 up against Liverpool after 82 mins.

Whatever happens just shows what can be done and all this I'd rather not be in the PL is total bullocks.

Just wondering if Luton are the Hatters then why aren't Brighton the Brown Hatters ?

<cheers>

Finished 1-1 but that will give Luton the confidence they can stay up this season.

I get what you’re saying and inclined to agree but part of me is still with Eire because I can’t deny I’ve enjoyed this season so far much more than I have for the last two years (the last day win excepted).

Yes it's fun this season but that would quickly change once our better players have left for pastures new and going back up at least provides the funds to invest again.

Where that ultimately gets us who knows, but we simply have to get up there to find out with this new ownership structure.

As you’ve brought it up. Some observations on Luton game. Had last few minutes on radio. Minnows celebrating a home draw against Liverpool. Shows exactly the imbalance in that league. They’ll likely lose a handful of games in a row and that point may or may not keep them fourth from bottom at end of season. What a target to have. We spent two seasons at exact same. Boring. As for coverage on sky etc. 90% of discussions are now based purely on wrong var decisions. They spent two weeks banging on about the Liverpool one and next two weeks will be spent moaning about the Arsenal one. Again boring. In my books if I’ve a choice of watching Leeds play in a classic game away to leaders and beating them or scrapping with the likes of Liverpool to try get a point, ultimate aim to try muster 36 points by end of season to hang on making up numbers in the pl, then it’s a no brainer for me there are millions of football fans who spend their lives supporting teams outside the top flight and with little or no chance of ever getting to it but they can still enjoy and love their football and clubs and can’t have a proper affinity with their players rather than the crap fans in pl are subjected to
