Think Spence is back on the grass but not ready for another couple of weeks. Firpo now backin full training but always a bench warmer for Leicester but it does give FARKE some options. As LOL says Byram can move to RB ahead of Archie and Shaks and Firpo to LB. I do feel however that Byram was brought in for LB with Firpo otherwise Spence seems to be a joke signing even though he’s a prem player and bound to start
We already know that at least 2 prem players are coming in on loan in January. Lots of stories about Leeds trying to sign Neco Williams from Forest in the summer but as he hasn’t started a game this season he could be a player FARKE gets in on loan but surely that means Firpo on his bike with Spence and Williams playing as full backs
Where has the two prem players coming in January been confirmed Doc? Genuine question, I have completely missed that.
@Doc can confirm this but I think he's referring to the interview with Kinnear or Farke (I forget) about the January transfer window. It was basically said that although there was a kitty available for squad improvements that's its much more likely that we utilise the loan market in January if we require more players. I dunno where 2 players comes from or why they would be PL players.
Yes mostly correct as it was Kinnear who said it on various news outlets. FARKE also said it to Graham Smyth. Kinnear went into more details a week or so ago when he mentioned that the budget is great and without getting rid of any players we have slots available for at least 2 premier league loan players
City smash Bournemouth but Sinisterra scores their only goal. Sam Greenwood scored again for Boro in a 3-3 draw and bloodyIpswich grap a very late equaliser against Rooney
I can confirm that it's not actually confirmed that @Doc either confirmed it or didn't confirm it. It is confirmed that we have room for 2 loan signings which are yet to be confirmed which kind of leaves us in the unconfirmed period leading up to any confirmation.
Well let’s not judge… if he’s not back for another couple of weeks suppose he might as well enjoy a bit of ganja in the meantime
The 21s took a battering on Friday completley demolished 1-7 at home to Palace. Skibula was outsmarted and the likes of Leo Hjelde seems to be taking much of the blame. However Palace have some very good prospects who have progressed well from last season and they were good last season too. No cause for worry though as last time we were promoted we came straight back down due to injuries in the first team. This time FARKE is trying to keep the bulk of the 21s together and why Joseph has been dropped from the first team along with Bate. We sit in midtable and think we will finish around there, so should be no relegation on the cards this time
Following our great win on Friday night the expectations for the season have now probably been raised to the point where anything less than promotion will be seen as a failure. That would be very harsh in my opinion as getting out of he toughest League in world football is no easy task at the best of times and it’s especially so after the summer of turmoil we had to endure.
Actually with the money avaliable for players in January and the way we are playing i would now deem play offs as a failure. No way are the two teams above us going to smash 100 points. Leicester will get close but Ipswich surely do not have the squad depth we have.
I agree with Wakey and let’s be honest here most of us think we have a better side than last season and even though we still have a couple of injuries we have a strong bench and cover in every position. We even contemplate losing Meslier and Gnonto without worrying. In January we will also be adding to the squad. Autos required
At the start of the season, I honestly felt, keep 3 from the attackers we had and we would win the league. Sinisterra and Summerville were my main two to keep but the form of Rutter, the addition of Piroe, the fact we kept Gnonto too, I still feel we can and will finish top of the table, playoffs for me, yes that will be a failure but if it is the case due to unforeseen injuries to the same extent suffered by Bielsa then as long as we win then I'll accept it We've slipped up a couple of times, we will again but so will Ipswich and Leicester. Leicester didn't play bad, we outplayed them, we were the better team and deserved the win We beat Ipswich at their ground when the team was still finding it's feet, we had Gelhardt, Drameh, Gyabi, Shackleton and Cresswell come on as subs that day. We're stronger now and playing with more confidence than we did in August
We’ve clearly a few that for whatever reason don’t seem to have access to the championship table so Eire Will help you out
Subject to any long term injuries we don't need to add to the squad in January providing also that no one leaves. Kinnear said we have 2 loan spots available but it was all subject to circumstances at the time and if we're still in our present form then absolutely no need to change anything. Plus anyone coming in would want to be a starter and it's difficult to see how that would happen with what we have. Goalkeeper - sorted Right back - sorted as we have Ayling, Spence , Shaks & Gray. Left back - sorted Byram & Firpo. Centre backs - sorted plus 2 as cover in Coops & Cresswell Centre Midfield - sorted plus cover in Gray & Gruev Wings - sorted Striker - Sorted Subs - sorted as we have a strong bench now.
maybe Olof has had his point proved right. Farke played his best team and won on Friday… maybe he should have done it at Stoke?
Or he rested the right players at Stoke so they were able to perform to their optimum against Huddersfield and then again at Leicester and as we've won 5 from the last 6 I'm sticking to trusting Farke and his judgement thanks.
