The three main candidates are, in my opinion, extremely underwhelming, then you get to the next level down, the guy in charge of Celtic then we hit scraping the Barrel, rock Bottom, and it’s getting a bit scary that those barrel scrapers are now surfacing and becoming possiblities

Do not agree. Postecoglo or whatever in charge of Celtic is a cracking manager. On a near zero net budget he rebuilt Celtic in months. Brought in quality from obscure countries like Japan and Greece. I know there will be the usual ****e about Scottish football but I genuinely don’t think he’d touch us at this time

I hope we never see him in charge of us, Australian Football, Japanese and Celtic seriously it doesn’t get much lower and the board are idiots if they think the fans would welcome Kewell in the dugout

Alfred Schreuder large amount of money has been placed on him out of nowhere to be our next coach.

Sacked at Ajax the players hated him by all accounts and half the players took part in a revolt against him, no win since November (uncanny I know)

Wait until the odds checkers catch up and update, even’s favourite on Sky Bet 11:30pm

Some are saying it’s due to a rumour started on Waccoe and that he will be VIP at the game tomorrow and he’s in a Leeds hotel tonight. Others are saying it’s the Man U boss who’s invited him

Maybe and I agree on Kewell of course. Thing is Posticogloo has been a winner everywhere he’s gone. Ask WJ. I know There is a bias against Scottish football but it’s as good as some of the leagues were recruiting supposedly in. Maybe I’m biased mate as I’ve seen a fair bit of it over last three decades

Just a little more on what he’s done since arriving in Scotland
Postecoglou became the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic on 10 June 2021, signing a 12-month rolling contract, making him the first Australian manager to coach a major club in Europe. Celtic, who had just lost their league title to Rangers for the first time in a decade, had abruptly missed out on hiring English manager Eddie Howe. The new appointment was mocked by Celtic fan and Talksport presenter Alan Brazil, who apologised on his show a year later, after Postecoglou had won the league. Australian Celtic player Tom Rogic reflected on the atmosphere at the appointment: "I laugh sometimes when I look back. Although I knew him quite well, there was a perception of: 'Who's this guy?'".
Postecoglou made his debut in a UEFA Champions League qualifier on 20 July, drawing 1–1 against Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland; a 2–1 loss in the second leg in Denmark led to elimination eight days later. He lost his first league game 2–1 away to Heart of Midlothian on 31 July.

On 19 December 2021, Celtic won the Scottish League Cup after defeating Hibernian 2–1 at Hampden Park in the final. The following 2 February, a 3–0 win over rivals Rangers put Celtic to the top of the league table for the first time in the season, ending a 13-game unbeaten start for opposing manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Having not let their lead slip, the league title was sealed on 11 May with a game remaining, after a 1–1 draw at Dundee United. Postecoglou became the first Australian to win a league title in Europe. He was the league Manager of the Month five times in his first season, for October 2021 and January to April 2022, I know Scottish football is irrelevant to most but he plays a great style of football to watch. Just my tuppence worth. Nobody else seems to be coming up with any suggestions at all

If we’ve £7m to spend buying out a contract, and then a wage on top, I’d rather see that wage and the £7m combined to make one bigger wage offering to the likes of Kompany or Thomas Frank.

I’d hoped we were going to make a statement type signing like one of these or Poch. Maybe they’d still say no even with an extra £7m wage offering

I’d love to see either of those two with us but I’ve one question. Why would they join Leeds and that’s a genuine question Ristac

Poch or Tuchel etc would have to take a gamble when they don’t need to. If we get relegated that CV and their earning potential takes a hit. They are already multi-millionaires. So not very likely plus Poch is great mates with his mentor Bielsa and he hasn’t said a word to anyone at Leeds since leaving so obviously upset.

Rich then goes into scrapping the barrel guys and I mostly agree on that but to dismiss those on the list is a bit harsh. If Iraola leaves Rayo their fans will be in tears and that only happens for special people. Hes top of thee list for a reason as well as doing a top top job with a small club in a top top league it’s his potential too.

had an argument yesterday with a scouse fan who said we should get Gerrard. I asked him if Klopp leaves would he be happy with Gerrard the hero coming back.. tumbleweed

Simply for the challenge specially for Frank. Is he happy and has it just become too cosy plodding along, he’s 49 now.

He could coach a club with double the attendance, on the verge of the 49ers taking full control and a far greater budget than Brentford will ever have. Surely he wants bigger than Brentford.

We’ve a decent squad, one that’s lacked a decent coach, any decent coach should be able to steer us clear. He’s on a £1.5m a year basic contract, that’s £29,500 a week, we were paying Jesse £4.5m a year, triple the wage.

Frank risks being known for keeping Brentford safe, never doing anything special other than remaining in the PL. If that’s the CV he wants at this stage of his life then fine but me on a personal level, I’d want a challenge, I’d want more

Different playing styles I know but that’s what Dyche became famous for, keeping a smaller club in the PL and it didn’t get him very far

Frank’s an interesting guy. Sees more to life than football, wants to travel the world. Not sure he wants a ‘big job’ or to still be in management in 5 years.

    but hey money talks <laugh>

Tuchel… isn’t he the guy who’s incredibly expensive Chelsea team got battered 3-0 by Jesse’s Leeds? Must be the worst manager in the world huh?

Nuno Santo - Why is he frowned upon by many, yet Iraola brings out an excitement.

Santo took Valencia to 4th and won manager of the month 3 times. Sacked for finishing second with Porto, had Wolves batting above their station two 7th place finishes, mixed results at Spurs, best ever PL start in their history, then a poor run of 5 defeats in 7 games

I just don’t see why he is considered a bad option compared to the Iraola guy
