I can't remember when England fans last boasted we were "gonna win the cup". But that doesn't fit your "England are arrogant" narrative does it ?

How about July 2021 ;)

Of course Eire's comment that you quoted made no mention of "gonna win the cup", he referred to the "it's coming home" that features a lot in the video posted by the Guardian newspaper ;)

Even Match of the Day got involved

I am going to be a huge nobber here but I have a feeling Alberth Elisis the chosen striker. For me its him after what I have heard and read, and the way hes keeping a low profile. The other striker hot in the media, except the YEP is the Argie kid Castellanos. Smythy is adamant nothing doing, yet hes never been right on anything yet.

Is that the guy who played for Bordeaux last season Doc or is it someone else with the same name ?

Yes thats him mate and the French club have him on loan from Boavista and are buying him at agreed price, and then selling him for a profit. They need cash as relegated :emoticon-0148-yes:

Cheers Doc

That's why I asked, because I knew I had read somewhere that Bordeaux were going to exercise the purchase agreement, so it seemed strange that we were looking to sign him. Whilst I knew they had been relegated, hadn't realised they were just looking to make a quick profit by selling him on.

Very similar to Noa Lang last season. Ajax banish him on loan into Belgium with the new Man Utd manager tearing him a new one. There is an agreement to purchase at €7m which they take up and then put a for sale sign on him for €30m. Orta walked away then. So Club Brugge now have a €35m price tag on him for this summer

What's with the "it's coming home" nonsense. It's just a song, bit like leeds fans singing waccoe, no true in it but a great song on the terrace.
