Very interesting one running tomorrow in the shape of old boy Gosden’s SACRED ACT (4.10 Nottingham). Only had 2 runs to date both in April of last year. First up he won a maiden in most eyecatching fashion, over tomorrow’s course and distance, prior to then running in the ‘Esher Cup’. Ran off the same mark (90) as he will of the morrow and was backed as if defeat was out of the question despite the race being a seriously hot one. However, Sacred Act didn’t run his race that day and then that cruel mistress, injury, intervened which meant that he ended his 3YO campaign with just those 2 races under his belt.
He was at this point last season viewed as a potential Group horse and the fact that connections have preserved with him would indicate that is still very much the case. Off 90 tomorrow and up against some pretty exposed types I would imagine that old boy Gosden would only be expecting one outcome prior to a step up to Group level.
