Last 14 games-
W - 2
D - 2
L -10

5 games to get another 10 points to beat last seasons total (unless you are top six league position is irrelevant as a marker of improvement). No easy games amongst them.

This really is a collapse of epic proportions and it’s becoming patience testing.

Had he started the season with that he’d have been chopped.

Warburton simply has to go at the end of the season.

What pisses me off is that I expect us to lose the last 5 now. I’ve missed a lot of the home games recently due to other stuff going on (not a tragedy obviously) but could make the last two. Do I want to? I suspect I’ll decide on the day.

I’ll get the old gits price ST for next year though.

I am so against this sort of thing Col, getting rid of someone with a steady plan, that fits our club so well...but sadly I really am beginning to agree with you.

What ever the reason ...nobody believes in him anymore... fans or players...and possibly the board. Everyone is going through the motions.
A win in practically any of our last 4 or 5 matches would have put us back in the playoffs.
It has not happened, it has not even nearly happened.

It is a colossal wheels of the bus...
I believe it is terminal

Like you, I'm inclined against getting rid of Warbs and have posted why on the last match day threat. Won't repeat what I wrote there, but will add that it gets harder to keep a long term view with each passing loss. I think it's the nature of the losses more than the results too. We need to see some fight in the next few games. Pleased he tried something different with the formation at least. Do wonder if the likes of Ball / Thomas ought to be starting to prove they are hungry and willing to work harder than Johansen et al. Time is ticking sadly.

I thought we showed a lot of fight today. We were more aggressive in our play but our finishing was poor and their Keeper good. Think he should have got Gray and maybe Austin on earlier if they were fit enough. But I've yet to see Thomas achieve anything apart from a cross for an Amos goal. He did have a decent shot saved today.

Problem is, nearly always, when a club get to this point, the coach inevitably goes in the end.

I thought Les and Ramsey are there to provide the long term view, the framework and the strategy, they should have a list of coaches that can fit into that vision. Coaches come and go according to how well they get the first team motivated and playing to the plan. When that goes - and only exceptional coaches can do it year after year at the same club - you get a new one in. The alternative is that the coach is so good that he gets poached by a bigger club, like Pochettino going from Southampton to Spuds to PSG.

As I posted on the other thread, in this situation the coach is the fall guy, I just hope that the blokes who never get challenged or threatened with the sack understand their own accountabilities and are up to the job.

Last match day threat? Things are even worse than I thought...

I suppose Les and Ramsey's real test is who the next coach is by that measure.

Not who, how well they perform. In perpetuity. And to drone on in the same vein as previously, if we don’t know what the ****ing objectives are we are excluded from knowing how well not only the coach but also the rest of the leadership are doing.

I’ll shut up now.

Out of curiosity, can you recall the last time Johansen or Hendrick scored, or made an assist ? No I thought not

Well I remember Johansen scoring and making a few goals, less of late. Hendrick was close last game, but Hendrick is playing defensive or central midfield, Johansen usually central. He did set up Dozzell beautifully yesterday but he didn't read the pass, though acknowledged it after. Thomas is played further forward where he most definitely should be making or scoring goals. He has 1 assist so far that I remember and that over what nearly 2 seasons now.

Not quite sure how pertinent that is.
I can remember a couple of cracking/key goals Gray has scored - but otherwise he has been a hopeless addition. If he had put away the type of chances a striker of his supposed standing should, and he’s had plenty, we would still be in the top six. When we make good chances you, sorry I, expect him to be taking them - and so should he if he’s as good as he thinks he is. I hope we have someone useful lined up for our striking partnership next season.

Amos has never impressed me and seems too lightweight for this league. Thomas is playing a league or two higher than he should be. Dozzel adds no quality to the team, Johannsen and Austin are near calling it a day and we’re carrying them. Could go on but can’t be bothered.
