First 20 we played our usual slow ball go nowhere stuff . Then we picked it up moved it at speed and caused them problems . Second half we tried the same but they strung 5 across the back no ambition but to see it out . We have lost the extra skills we needed to break through . We need to give and go right up against their backs to get behind them that’s the only way for me. I did suspect that our upping temp was not his instruction in the first half . We worked v hard but it was not quite enough . The Owls will physically batter us when they come . the Baggies were the worst they’ve been in this division . Lastly if we get Robbins or anyone else they will shut up shop make us hard to beat and that’s all .
I've seen a few posts saying Tim isn't a bad manager but what is the evidence of this? You say his style of play isn't suited to the Championship ...... bloody well change it then, any half decent manager would. How many times have struggling teams turned around their fortunes by simply being hard to beat
Today he’s playing people out of position to accommodate his system. A sensible manager would change his system to get the best from the players he has available.
The similarities of this summer and Slutsky’s and Shota’s are almost the same. Complete turnover of the squad no cohesion. An impossible task as a new gaffer in the unforgiving champ.
Yea its obvious He wont be sacked Acun doesnt want to spend more money Not sure if i cba watching more of us under walter though
So don't, stick him on gardening leave and let Daws take over. It smacks of Acun's stubbornness as he fired LR and brought TW in, he just seems desperate to be proven right. It's either that or he's trying to sell the club and leaving it up to the new owner.
But would you spend a tenner to save a hundred? This doesn't want to spend anymore money doesn't make sense. I think its more he doesn't want to admit he got it wrong
I thought we'd have enough by beating the **** around us but we've stopped doing that now, so I'm worried
I'm not sure Walter's "style of play" would work in any division, we try and overload wide but don't have enough width to create switches, WBA have a super high press but we rarely looked to go over the top, from goal kicks we are unable to get the ball to our forward five player who are on their heels facing our goal, we don't transition with any speed....theirs no such thing as Walterball the players and him aren't a good fit, it's not happening for him
Big baz put it best i think Performances like today are a team sleepwalking to relegation Lots of effort and hard work, conceding stupid goals and losing
Said it before - Wally will not get another job in English football once we get rid. His "style of play" is so easy to play against - every other team has us sussed before they play us. Predictable, boring, rubbish.
