I get your gist, I just don’t think you need loads of money. We’ve seen this summer you can sign potentially game changing players for £3m (obviously a lot of money, not in the modern game though). Had we had more of an established squad around them like last season, they wouldn’t have immediately become our best players
he was seen as a genius a year ago, but now 14 games in, hes at risk of losing his job being a manager is pretty **** (apart from the amazing salary and pay offs) same with mark robins but i bet coventry and luton finish above us
How responsible is Tan for the appointment of Walter? I can’t say Acun would have known a great deal of about him.
And some very small ones too. Hence greater disparity. Fewer games also, which is less physically demanding on players. Nor does it attract the talent the championship can by virtue of it being the 6th richest league in Europe.
I don’t think any of them did. Walter was passed on by Calhanoglu at Inter Milan a world class player who rated Walter from his time under him earlier in his career. He is clueless though as some would lead you to believe. The research into him was clearly short handed as they completely shafted him in summer
Tan found Rosenior. one of the Turkish international players who'd previously played for him at youth level introduced Walter to Acun, so the story goes...
What's the relevance to Walter and Hull city? But no, I agree with your point generally. Bruce was a good fit for us and did well where he failed at other clubs. Yore not really a manager until you're sacked as the saying goes. I don't think Walter is ****, I just don't think he's a good fit for the club or the league and we're seeing evidence of that. And he's lost the fans. It's a foregone conclusion anyway. Why waste time on the inevitable?
Yea i suppose I think such a turnover of players I dont feel a connection to them like usual I feel disillusioned i think
I struggled to get attached to Philogene for the very reason that I knew he’d be off at the first chance
Hopefully the investment in youth addresses the huge annual turnover somewhat. Takes time for players and fans to develop a rapport and there's been little continuity.
