I think Matt Duke went because Pearson thought he wasn't good enough, I don't think there was anything more to it than that. He's getting rid of the players he doesn't think are good enough(or are costing us too much) and replacing them with better options. If it was simply a case of getting rid of the old guard, he wouldn't have offered Garcia a new deal and Dawson would probably be on his way. Guzan was happy enough to come in as No.2, he still wanted to come back for next season, when presumably he'd know there was a decent chance he'd be No.2 again. I think we need to wait and see who comes in before deciding if it was a good move or not.
