I do sympathise with both parties here but a political solution will have to be decided upon at sometime. I know the Falklanders want to remain British but at the end of the day a solution must be found. If they profess to be British then why do they refuse to be repatriated here in the UK, a solution along the lines of the handing over of Hong Kong to the Chinese maybe?

Why should they move , most were born there as have generations before them and as a solution for who ? the very people who tried to force their will upon them, thats like saying the Channel islanders having to up roots and live on the mainland because their closer to France than the UK .Because the Argentines make a claim and were prepared to use force to impose their views and are rattling their cages again because of political dogma doesn't mean their right .

I'd say probably 96% of all people in the world are really nice. The last 4% are inhumane, and their eye for an eye intolerant methods should not be practiced by the remaining 96%. So I'm thinking We have done it with wars, it look ****, no more thank you. Now everyone should be friends.

mat you say why should they move. well i say why should the uk fund the island with tax payers dosh when it can be better spent over here...Its their choice

Because they're British and why should they because it suits your agenda , same as the Channel Islanders Anguilla Bermuda
British Antarctic Territory British Indian Ocean Territory British Virgin islands Cayman Islands
Falkland Islands
GibraltarBritish Crown Dependencies Channel Islands Montserrat Pitcairn Island St Helena
St Helena dependencies (Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha)
South Georgia and the South IslandsTurks and Caicos Islands
the people of the Isle of Man or anywhere else where the UK Government have a responsibility for .I'll ask you this , you'd be happy if someone from the ministry knocked your door and said ,move, it's cheaper to put you up in bedsit in wherever rather than the place you were born and are self sufficient( yes the Falklanders are ) and want to continue to live your life .Don't think so

Why did you join the forces Dai if not to protect the interests of Britain (a few wealthy people at the top) and it's territories?

I did not join to fight for worthless pieces of rock in the middle of nowhere so the politicians can get a piece of glory from the general public sitting safely at home...

I hope that Argentina invades and call up all those sitting behind their computers up because we don't have enough serviceman and ships anymore and see then when you see your mates get killed if it was worth it...

Why should they be Argentinian?

The islands have never been Argentinian, are 100's of miles away from Argentina, and the people really don't want to be Argentinian.

:D

Argentina has slipped further behind the UK than where it was in the 1980's. They couldn't take the island now with the Eurofighters that are stationed there and I believe one of our new Type 45 super destroyers is there as well... just to say "Cry more, Argies!"

They are not Argentinian they are Falkland islanders. they are certainly not British...

A referendum on political status was held in the Falkland Islands on 10–11 March 2013.[1][2][3][4] The Falkland Islanders were asked whether or not they supported the continuation of their status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom in view of Argentina's call for negotiations on the islands' sovereignty.[5]

On a turnout of 92%, an overwhelming 99.8% voted to remain a British territory, with only three votes against.[6] Had the islanders rejected the continuation of their current status, a second referendum on possible alternatives would have been held.[5] Brad Smith, the leader of the international observer group, announced that the referendum was free and fair and executed in accordance with international standards and international laws.[7]

Right. So all talk about the future of the Falklands should be between the Falkland Islanders and Britain. Where do Argentina fit into this?

that is between the Falkland islanders and Argentina..I don't care. We have done our bit by offering them to come to the uk and rehoused and help with a job...bloody hell that's more than any of us are offered...

When were they offered to up sticks en masse .or are you confusing that with what the Argentines were attempting to do .The more you post on this subject the more i'm convinced that you a bullshitter with the debating skills of an ass
