Can understand Argentinians being miffed at having an island so close to them occupied by foreigners from a land thousands of miles away. But the fact is the Islanders have been there now for generations and have a right to self determination under the UN Charter so absolutely nothing will change. Time to let it go and move on.

Y'know what id ban every single fookin' argie player from playing in the UK . , Cheeky cnuts , they have never had claim to those Islands Historically .

This has no place in the world cup, they all had a chance to be brave in 1982 (and many were) but pushing this agenda now just before a world cup is pathetic and even cowardly , these players roll around on the floor if somebody farts near them, they have no clue what men of both sides went through back then, i feel offended by that flag to be honest, will fifa do anthing about it ?

I'm not sure about historical claims but agree that using a football match to make political points is out of order and FIFA should impose a sanction - but you're right Norway, they won't.

I suspect that the majority were as brave as the next man and were fighting for the guy along side him rather than a collection of Islands as the majority were conscripts and with the loss of life you'd have hoped that would have been the end of their "claim" but its not the case as we know .Fifa will ignore it as I suspect the UK are not the most popular of the countries that they have an influence over

I do remember quite a few in here have military backgrounds in your professional lives, but even back then in the 1980's this was an unnecessary conflict. The purpose was to hide the internal problems in Thatchers UK, rather than to save threatened citizens.

As an ex serviceman who fought in the Falklands and lost a few mates in a pathetic war that should never have taken place in the first place. We are 10,000 miles away from a piece of land that has no value and costing the tax payers of this country billions. I dont give a **** if the people on the island want to stay there as it's their choice but we are wasting a lot of money that can be better spent in the UK. The Falklands is on Argentina's doorstep and the island through the history has been theirs and they should get it back and have done with it. We with the french were the tyrants of years gone past and claiming islands all over the world with menaces and it's about time we recognize that we were wrong and give back these islands to their rightful owners. I support the Argentinians and their fight for the falklands so we can stop all the needless billions we spend on what i call a piece of waste land....

As for the parallels with Crimea, yeah I suppose the Argentinians did act a bit like the Russians.
Not about that, its about the fact the Falkland Islanders were given a choice and voted to be a part of the UK , their wishes should be respected !!
Mikra you should check your History on such things, if we believe in Democracy than the Islanders voice needs to be heard, they have spoken and want to remain part of Britain end of story.

They are British and voted to remain so, plain and simple the argies can go fook themselves on this one
