As an ex serviceman who fought in the Falklands and lost a few mates in a pathetic war that should never have taken place in the first place. We are 10,000 miles away from a piece of land that has no value and costing the tax payers of this country billions. I dont give a **** if the people on the island want to stay there as it's their choice but we are wasting a lot of money that can be better spent in the UK. The Falklands is on Argentina's doorstep and the island through the history has been theirs and they should get it back and have done with it. We with the french were the tyrants of years gone past and claiming islands all over the world with menaces and it's about time we recognize that we were wrong and give back these islands to their rightful owners. I support the Argentinians and their fight for the falklands so we can stop all the needless billions we spend on what i call a piece of waste land....

Err... factually wrong the Islands through History have not been theirs <ok>

British in name only...They are no more British than they are french or Italian, They are Falkland islanders not British.

I thought you had gone from here. Have to have your two peneth and keep digging dont you. By the way we didnt wage war we reacted to our overseas territory being invaded.

If you think the Falklands don't cost us tax payers billions then you live in cookoo land. Its an eminence drain on the economy that we cant afford. There is nothing there, It's a **** hole of a place. What right have we to claim an island 10,000 miles away. I could not give two hoots who claims it as long as we dont, Let them run themselves if they want to live there...

Y'know what id ban every single fookin' argie player from playing in the UK . , Cheeky cnuts , they have never had claim to those Islands Historically .

Maybe the Spanish team should pose with a "we want our Argentina back" flag ??

This has no place in the world cup, they all had a chance to be brave in 1982 (and many were) but pushing this agenda now just before a world cup is pathetic and even cowardly , these players roll around on the floor if somebody farts near them, they have no clue what men of both sides went through back then, i feel offended by that flag to be honest, will fifa do anthing about it ?

Of course not .

I would agree , if they hate the UK so much , dont ever let Argie players thru the airport.
****ers .

And when Barca come to play next time say , sorry , you spanish lads con come in but that Argie will have to get back on the plane.

I stand to be corrected here but I believe the Falklands was a British dependency before Argentina was even a recognised country. No doubt someone will confirm (or otherwise) the truth of this but, if so, the Argies can go and do one. In any event it stinks that they are trying to use the WC to promote a political issue. Any more of it and I would ban them as acting against the interests of what is a sporting event.

Let them run themselves?

<doh>

They would be happy to continue doing that .
We dont " run " them .
We just allow them to continue "running " themselves and not let the Argentine govt do it..

Cant disagree with this, But we already have some here that are being payed very well. If they dont like us why take the British pound.

Civil war lasted in Argentina until 1861 whereby the country was reorganised provincially and Buenos Aires established as the capital whereas Britain established itself on FI by 1833 <ok>

So as you say Ivor, the argies can get stuffed!

As ex forces myself ,what ship did you serve on ?

HMS Sheffield.<ok> I don't care about what others think but i don't believe and have never believed that a small country like ours have any claim on any other piece of land that is thousands of miles away. It has always caused problems and start wars that is unnecessary and innocent people lose their lives. What bloody right have we to claim a small worthless bit of land just because we wanted it. the french did the same. we were nothing but pirates and thieves and now it's costing us big time. Sod them who choose to live on the malvinas or Falklands whatever they want to call it i don't care but dont expect our British servicemen and women to fight for something that is 10'000 miles away and pay through the nose with money and lives for it....Its not worth that for a barren piece of land....

UK has as much right to claiming the Falklands as they have to claim Hong Kong, India, Australia, south Africa or the USA...

Spot on Mikra, but it gives the eaton killers something to boast about, while we ordinary people die in patriotic ignorance. Patriotism, the biggest sham to curse mankind, and its biggest killer.
