yes he does. nothing less is acceptable now.

I respectfully disagree. Trophies need to come, yes. But now? No.

If people can't see the direction that we're heading then that's their problem. Not ours.

We are up against some of the richest teams on the planet who have invested in their squads for over a decade and have real strength in depth.

We have come from a team that was held together by an aging Gerrard and included several ill thought out signings that in themselves, held us back by a couple of years until we offloaded them.....we are still in this process!

We now have a first 11 that includes true world class talent, capable of challenging any team in the league and are proving that.

Fergy inherited his shower of sh*t and was allowed 6 years of winning nothing while he developed something special. Why would you not allow Klopp the same privelage, given the very obvious strides that we've taken against true wealth?

Far better teams than tonight's lost back to back CL games in Belgrade and Paris. They still did what they needed in the PL and got out of the group.

Tonight's game has nothing to do with Brighton. It was already as big a game as it ever could be, and I doubt the likes of Alisson and Van Dijk will be [HASHTAG]#worried[/HASHTAG] about how their performance will be affected by what a 4th choice lineup does against Wolves in the Wembley Mortgage Cup.

Well done for not feeding FA coffers.

you've every right to disagree and your view is perfectly valid.

However.

gerrard irrelevant
Ferguson irrelevant

We picked a team and set up for an away game v prem opposition that had zero hope.

Because it's supposed to be entertaining for the fans. Competitions are supposed to make it more fun, not be the primary target.

The idea of collecting trophies with horrible football is a Mourinho-style mental illness.
<laugh>

did we lose a game or something?

don't remember the board like this when we stuffed arsenal and embarrassed them.

Dont need a trophy. Would like one yes. Need one? No...

Over the last 3 years who has enjoyed watching their team more, lfc fans or united fans? United fans can celebrate a couple of trophies, so 2 very enjoyable days. Where as we’ve enjoyed 80% of the season playing the football we have without winning a trophy.

Comes down to the old question, what’s more ijnportabt to you, enjoying watching your team week in week out, or winning a trophy despite playing horrible football

I would agree with that, if it weren't for the fact that all eyes are on Klopp: it's him who needs to win something. Two cup finals and nothing so far. We all know which rocky path it can lead to if the trend continues and for all those saying well we can concentrate on the league now, are they for real?! We don't have much of a choice now and if we **** that up...some of us have waited a long, long time. Plus we've won nothing for six years. It's not a great record and I don't apologise for being seriously pissed off. I wanted that cup this season. To go out so early second season in a row...

wish people would put things into ****ing perspective!

Let's be honest whether it happened now or in a fixture congestion when CL back on it was likely we were fielding a weakened team at some point.

We learned nothing new about some of our squad players. We learned that our kids (rightly) have a better attitude than our has beens/never weres

Imagine if VvD had played and picked up the injury and not Lovren. Imagine. Even losing Lovren hurts us (I know, crazy huh?)

Imagine that after 70 minutes, Salah, Mane or Firminho had pulled up injured. Didn't yesterday prove more than anything else that we cannot afford to lose these players?

Klopp unashamedly prioritised the league over the cup because of the above. I applaud him for it. what else could he do with the players at his disposal?

Nobody likes losing but in this instance, it has to be taken in context. The one thing that I regret is that we didn't draw a Rotherham Utd so that the team put out yesterday could progress.

Yup, we were unfortunate that we drew the toughest game of all the top 6. Not only away, but away to a decent prem team who have nothing to play for in the lesgue so can focus on a cup

Tbh with Moreno I just think the lad is thick as plank... he has enthusiasm but literally no talent or awareness ... he just chases towards the first thing he sees like a Labrador. Still shouldn't be anywhere near us though lol.

Sturridge is a disgrace. What makes it worse is he started the season with some effort as a bit part player and I thought he had accepted the role and knuckled down....nope back to the non team player he really is.

I'm concerned about Keita. I know he's had the odd niggle but his fitness levels are appalling for this stage. I always give new guys from other leagues a season to adjust but he's going to have to get a wriggle on.

We can argue about the team selection and the squad depth till the cows come home.
What got me was that the senior players (previous first-teamers) on the pitch played abysmal and showed no leadership on and off the ball.
Yes, Klopp should take some flack for team selection as we were playing Wolves and not some third tier team. (Wolves aren't that bad).

wrong... its actually 3 finals lost

if klopp finihses 2nd imo the pressure will come on big time for more players to leave us not more players coming in. the big clubs will come pick our pockets once again.

He's now absolutely no choice cos we've thrown the cup. Its all or nothing... now the draws we got in both cup were bloody awful but we've not even tried.

We are now at the point where come may we will be looking back and could be winning the league and thats great and its a great season but IMO second is just best of losers. no fa cup, no league cup. CL to come and then the league.

Never apologise for being short changed by that kind of rubbish. Its not good enough. Klopp is spending his capital with fan throwing these comps. Theres only so much you have before people turn.

I can remember well the 1990s where souncess wasn't popular but the embaressing losses in the cups really did for him. Chesterfield....

Klopps got capital left with us and a lot of it but he's in danger of being labelled the nearly man. finish 2nd and in effect thats 4 runners up medals in his time.

I have to agree.

Mingolet.... never opened his motuh to marshal the 16 year old and CM playing in front of him. never came for a ball. i say 5 or 6 he should have just scooped up. played ki into trouble several times and didn't keep the line together.

Milner.... Dunno what the gobshite was at.

Keita. only interested in playing ahead of the ball waiting for someone to give it to him. Needed to sit in with milner and bring the forwards int othe game..

Shaqiri... for me he was abysmal. Absolute stinker. between falling over and hanging round miles up the pitch he gave no help at all to camacho.

sturrdige. looked stoned. utter disinterested

Moreno. what was going on with him jumping out of tackles. Was it 3 at back or not. as the only actual defender on ptich he should have sat in a bit but didnt

Origi. lobbed round first half, tried a leg second

Like.... jones did fine for 50 mins. he was tired and bullied off it then. camacho was terrible but hes 18 and playing out of position. he was no where near ready to play RB. i blame klopp there. the lads not played rb for u23s all year. Ki was ok but clearly not ready as his positing was all over shop. he needed another year and an expereicne mad to help him.
