I admire that mentality. It's what I tend to do in real life. Doesn't really work in football like...
Are Sky Sports saying Mane has put in a TR yet? He's probably waiting until after the Hoffenheim tie.
At set pieces, the forwards and midfielders need to defend too. What is wrong with man marking, stay goal side of the attacker and at least stop them getting a run and clean header. Sick of the same weakness as last season, these are professional footballers and they seem to have no clue how to defend set pieces. Although not deserved, two points chucked away today
Do you lot seriously think that wijnaldum has been amazing all pre-season at the front post and has made no errors like this. He's been stuck there and it's crazy. I say three terrible errors and 3 goals...the errors were just from going and doing silly things in the moment before the chance.... like can backheeling a ball out of play.. quick throw and it's a goal..
So what are you saying? That we don't practise there things religiously until everyone knows their job?
I'm saying front think it came as a shock to anyone he didn't do a good job clearing it imo..... I think he was plunked there oh about Thursday and told give it a go son
Both comments suggest a lack of coaching. Klopp is responsible for this is he not!? All great teams have balance. Attacking and defending. Unfortunately, looks like Klopp only focuses on one of these. I hope he gets who he wants in and can show us differently but Carra was right on sky earlier, VvD on his own will not be much better. The entire team needs to defend better.
Yup. Today i felt Henderson never once got in a good position, not once as a no 6. He was actually a disgrace imo. At ht klopp grabbed the side and got them inside and pinging long balls to fbs. That was it... Simple but effective. The last ten the lack of leaders showed... Kabul was in one leg and we never ran at them. Instead we retreated til they could just keep the ball and ping long balls and eventually we caved
That irritated me more than the offside goals they scored or our inability to defend set pieces! My first instinct on seeing them out strapping on his leg was 'run him'. We didn't bloody go near him
Whilst I agree with this, said it during the match as soon as Kabul was down, I also blame Origi who was clearly brought on to charge about and test Kabul. Origi was lazy as ****, did he touch the ball at all today? He was brought on to do a job and did nothing. Patience is starting to wear with Origi, he's not showing the signs of someone who will make a top player. He's inconsistent and lazy. I would preferred Solanke or Ings to have that bench slot in the next few games, kick Origi up the arse.
He got it once and ran away from Kabul... could have tried to roll him or take a tackle but didn't. Firmino dropped to about cm and was cleaning up for us. Klopp throws on origi to save legs and the lad does **** all and every ball comes back.
As I said during the game, I'd try dropping Firmino back and playing Solanke up top. Go 4231... Migs TAA - Matip - Lovren - Milner Hendo - Winja Salah - Firmino - Mane Solanke Tell Hendo to sit. If he moves out of position, swap him for Can.
