3 weeks because every other country plus Uefa were working to one timetable and the PL were busy chasing Sky money
All the other leagues had a delayed start due to the WC...hence why some leagues only finished on the weekend gone by...threfore if say for example the finalists were Italian it would have fitted in perfectly to have the final this coming weekend
