Saturday 3rd March
Kick off is at 5:30pm and is LIVE on BT Sport

Ref: Graham Scott

Ref Watch: ****er with the whistle this weekend for us is Graham Scott which will be his second outing for us this season, the previous one being the 1-1 draw with Swansea. Not a very card happy chappie according to his stats, so either he bottles it a lot or he likes to see the game flow, hopefully the latter.

Apps (17/18) - 14
Yellows - 28
Reds - 1

Rafa returns to the Wirral, Liverpool fresh off the back of a 4-1 mauling against West Ham, our lot contriving to throw away 2 points down on the south coast last time out against Bournemouth. Slimani looks to definitely be out, the fitness of Shelvey and Gayle looks in some doubt also meaning we could be lining up like this :-

Prediction: 2-2

Leave Diame where he is for me. If we have to change things, play Mitrovic and Aarons.

Seriously I'd just play Kenedy up top with Perez, play Atsu left and drop Merino in alongside Diame. Keep the same formation tactics and see how we go.

Regardless 5-1 to Liverpool.

If i had my way i wouldn't play perez at all....if ever again ! The harsh reality of that situation tho is that if he doesn't play then Joselu will. Neither in reality offer up any sort of confidence in their ability to lead the line, nor put gilt edged ****ing chances in the back of the net, so who's the least ****test makes the starting 11 for me.

Results wise, yeah I can see a mauling on the cards, Liverpool scored 4 last time out...hopefully they'll have one eye on the Porto game next week and we can maybe sneak a result, clutching at straws perhaps :-)

Gayle up front if he's fit or Perez if not and try Kenedy in behind. Merino in for Shelvey. Atsu and Ritchie on the wings. Would like to see Murphy at least on the bench this time.

They are too good for us at the moment unfortunately. Can't see anything other than a defeat and had written this one off a long time ago. 3-1 to the dippers.

I forgot about Murphy altogether. Gives us an interesting option if we want to play Kenedy where he is. He could go up top with Perez. Murphy needs to be kept involved. We spent most of our summer budget on the lad, and while he has to earn his stripes, I think he has done ok. He is young and needs game time to develop.

"At the moment"?! Not what I'd class as a moment; the scousers have been too good for us for around 50 years. Even in the 90's they beat us.

Get beat, move on. I do think a draw is possible, but we'd need a few stellar performances to get one. Expect Gayle to score, mind, it's just whether we hold on for 1-1, or do what we did against Man U, Man City and get soundly beaten.

Real pain that they decimated their CL opponents so they'll be throwing a first choice team out.

Looking forward to welcoming Rafa back to Anfield. Guaranteed to get a very warm welcome. I hope it's a great game with a win for us. We've had some good'uns over the years <ok>

Would like to see Merino and Murphy in the side regardless of who is fit,5 in midfield and in their faces all game good 1-1 draw or 0-6

Is Kenedy playing well enough to keep his place in the side? Since the first couple of games I've not been been that impressed with him and he seems to have the stamina of an 85 year old man.

I would also like to add that the ref for Saturdays game is Graham Scott
it's his second appointment to ref us this season

in total this is the seventh time that we have had a rookie ref this season
Luverpills 1st time

P.S.

General Lee, remember what I said for the last game Shhhhhhhhhhhh!

it was all your fault <laugh>

No, it was because Nev went for a ****.

1 nil down, 4-1 up, Jon-Jo Shelvey wrapped it up. With a nick nack paddywack, give a dog a bone, all the scousers ****ed off home.

If only. We'll lose 5-0.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I can see Liverpool running up a rugby (If not a basketball or cricket) score against us
