First let result...

Nod for Lucas as a stopgap, Moreno and Can (though he and Ibe tired badly in the second half). Like with City, we should have buried that game in the first 45, but never mind, we did far, far better than I feared.

Not worried about the tie on Friday (which is not to say we'll win - I just don't know) but I'd rather get to wembley (if we do) than get to the fourth round of the FA Cup, if that's what happens. Really hope the three injuries don't **** us though for January, with Arse and Uniturd coming up. I'd truly prefer Benteke tried at CB than CF.

Question why do we float it to benteke......

Why can't coutinho and whomever close down like they did tonight.

Why did watford destroy us with it...

Did we miss milner, or Allen. . Or 3 in middle.

"He pulled out of the challenge". Apparently he's pretty bad at it as he didn't even slow down until he bounced off Allen. Who by the way wasn't in "mid dive" as he falls in a different direction than he was running. Unless Allen's mediocrity somehow defies gravity.

To be fair, the way game was set up, Benteke wasn't going to do much because we were on the back foot.

I think the double sessions etc comment is fair.

Getting the team from rodgers play for 20 mins idea up to fitness and play games is hard.

After all van Gaal crocked half his side when he started at utd and the manc whined about injuries last year.

We just need to get on with it
 
The highlights summary at end of Sky showed all stoke attacking on about 6 separate occasions and then our one goal.

Made it looks like a smash and grab <laugh>
 
GOT to buy/loan a couple of C/b's now in January, whether or not they can play in the next round.

As much as he is boring. We seem to play better when Milner plays, i wouldn't say he is a leader but he encourages those around him to simply run more..

When we partner him and a fully fit Henderson next together, we could have a midfield with the capability to pressure and hassle teams to an even better standard.

And yet we had more chances to score in the second half, and should have done with a reasonable amount of composure.

Yep, Milner, Henderson and Allen could be a very strong midfield for you.
 
Alan Smith should do something useful with his life and donate his other eye for medical research, as he only uses one for watching our games. (and you too, Tobes). :emoticon-0181-fubar
