Klopp says he's excited by Origi starting today. "When I was Dortmund coach, I thought about him but he was too expensive!"
I honestly do like Origi and think he'll come good. I never watching much of the French league, but I do remember him standing out in the 2014 world cup and I saw similarities between him and Sturridge. Plenty of players have been **** before coming to us then been great or great for us then **** after leaving. Some players fit. I think Origi needs a bit of time to slot in to the team and show what he can do when he's getting some proper game time under a manager who knows how to use him.
For today; not the most optimistic given the injury list which is is almost as long as the fit list, but I think Klopp can at the very least restore some passion and pride for his first game and get the players giving a ****. That alone will up our performance. I also suspect he'll have done more in terms of defensive positioning in these few days than Rodgers in his 3 years, so we can get a result here.
I'm not expecting miracles from Nobby's first game- especially with the injury list we have.
I am expecting an improvement in the style of play, but the result is entirely unpredictable. I'll be happier to see us play a higher game, press, and get more players in the box when we have the chance. That way, goals will come, I think. How long it will take him to organise and instil confidence into our ropey defence is another matter.
For the first time since Suarez buggered off, I'm excited and genuinely fascinated to see where we're going.
