Come Wednesday I would play a similar team but change things up front. Lallana and Coutinho should not be playing together. So I would drop Lalllana and replace him with firmino. However, Coutinho clearly needs a break so i would also drop him and replace him with Teixeira. A talented fringe player may be just what the team needs needs to change things up. Id then bring in Benteke for Origi. Everything else id keep the same for now.

Foreign managers enter our league with a great reputation and underneath think it will be a breeze but very quickly they soon find out it is much harder to win games here than they think......Klopp's way of doing things will take time and he wont be fully satisfied until he can bring in his own players and get rid of the deadwood and until then nothing much will change...

Second season syndrome for Koeman. The unforced errors wiuldnt have been there last season. Not just this game either, this season.

Maybe that's the case. But if most teams were more clinical they would win their games!!

We should have had 2 penalties anyway, and they were lucky not to be down to 8 men. Bent refs again <grr>

true, i think it will be a lot of huffing and puffing until jan.

hopefully he will have money to spend and we are in a reasonably position in the league.

Sturridge is finished at this club and his glum face showed it. He's never gonna suddenly be a consistently fit player. His latest injury is due to a light knee tap in training ffs!

he peaked in our runners up season, that's as good as he'll ever be we should be looking to others to lead the line now

his fitness is so poor that he'll never be a Klopp player as he's too weak, feeble and fragile to put in the work asked of the whole team, he gets badly injured in a training session to put him out for time FFS, nevermind being able to do a hard shift in a Klopp side

is a shame as he has that something special in his game and finishing when 100%, but he's 100% about 10% of the season

You would hope Klopp would have made it clear before he joined he wanted players to come in, so I'm hopeful we'll be lively in the market. If not we're gonna get bummed, literally.

That depends on quality. Some teams dont have players who are capable. Southampton's players clearly are as we saw last season. Today their midfield were giving it away sloppily when they had the time and opportunity to attack. Not talking about the finishing either, just simple passes on the counter attack. I can understand the likes of Sunderland doing it but not Southampton.

Maybe its just the fact that losing over half of their first team is catching up to them.

We should be picking up some decent results amongst those (should <laugh>), and if we can navigate that tough 4 game period from Chelsea through to Swansea against teams who in recent history have given us a decent game with minimum damage we shouldn't be in too bad a state come January and Klopp will have a good idea of what's needed and who isn't needed.

You used to get them dodgy decisions given to you in the old 80's days, when you were a force in the english game, but you're just not that big anymore....

Lucas and Moreno were very good today.

Can was good first half but he looked poor in second half (could be down to fatigue). Sakho had a poor game as wel.

Benteke gives us a presence and he's a scorer of good goals, but is he a good goal scorer? One thing is for sure is that he's a better option than Origi. And Firmino offered more in 20 mins than Lallana and Coutinho did.

Mentioned above but once we get Benteke, Sturridge, Firmino and Henderson fully fit and integrated, we'll look a lot better. Klopp has had to contend with a lot injuries to first teamers so it's not easy.

We are improving with each match which is positive.

I think some Russian has paid the saints fans to "forget" the two clear pens not given to us today.
They are actually saying there were no pens that we should've Benn given in their match day thread.

Disgraceful the level of corruption in the game these days

There is not one player in this team that gets me on the edge of my seat. Actually Sturridge does but he is on the sidelines alot.

Coutinho is another one but it's evident he needs better players around him.

I think he can develop into a player who gets more out of others and become a focal point but right now, we can't build around him (unless we buy better quality).

there is a player i do get excited watching, sadly he doesn't play in the first team and its tex.

and another potential one is yesil, but not sure if he will be another who will suffer with injury problems.

And I have faith in Klopp - he'll know there are limitations and weaknesses in this team. He will rectify them.
