Not sure it's as simple as that. That midfield took us a bloody long way last season, so clearly it does work - or has worked in the past. Our forward three have all been shadows of themselves this season, despite the stats for goals/assists. There's little movement up top, little running off the shoulder so not much to be able to pass towards. Forwards not playing as well, midfield shirking responsibilities (more disciplined/tactical from Klopp?) but it's not working on any level, definitely in Europe.

I agree it must be down to Klopp for whatever reason; slight changes in positions, mindset/approach to games or whatever.

We no longer press, that's the difference

In the CL last season we played fearless football home and away, always on the front foot. We have lost this in this season's competition.
It's a huge difference from last season how we're playing now. It works in the PL, but it's shambolic in Europe. All of our worst performances (not results) have been in the CL so far.

Lineker just said we can progress if we win 1-0 but suspect that requires PSG to draw
Nope it an away goals thing i think
Something to do with rsb scoring.

If we had lost to paris first game we would be happy with it still in our hands come last game at home to napoli

Given our performances this season i think we have more of a chance on the one nil win than by winning by two clear goals.

Either way we are not winning the comp so going out not the end of the world
Purely a rep and financial thing to stay in

Onto the derby, which i am very worried about :(

We weren't that bad to be fair, reminded me of the city game earlier in the season, two very good teams almost cancelling each other out, the home advantage gave them enough to be honest but we didn't collapse after going 2 down. Salah and Firmino were the biggest let downs to be honest, Mane was the only one who didn't let the PSG defence bully them. I thought we played out from the back well but didn't do enough in the final third and in reality they defending superbly. All to do in game 6.. Under the lights, Anfield, European night.. .. looking forward to it.

Vs PSG...

won 3-2 at home
Lost 2-1 away

In the knockout stages, they progress on away goals

Everyone is banging on about the MF but 2 of the front 3 were awful tonight.

Salah made sure Firmino would not do well, Salah far to hungry and running into traffic.

Firmino can be anon if mane or Salah who get most of the ball, aren't hooking him up.

Salah made firmino look **** more htan once this season, and Firmino is getting nothing from Mane and Salah this season, sometimes I forget he's playing, yet he works tirelessly

Right ladies and gentlemen, another away day another poor performance. Got to say 3 away days on the bounce has to be put at the managers feet.

I reckon klopp has a cheeky bet (laid on by sturridges brothers mates aunty hairdresser) that we will have less than 5 shot on target over 3 games. Odds on that must have been huge.

We can moan about Henderson, but he is what he is, he plays like this every week, and I'll be honest I don't think he was to bad today.

Wini on the other hand was drastic, comes to something when the best move you've made, is to sprint off the pitch for a sub.

Firmino, oh Bobby, what the **** has gone on with you. If I had a choice of who to sign now, it would be a top class centre forward. Where as everybody can be bollocked for lack of ability, he is the only one who can be bollocked for lack of effort.

Trent should have played, not nocking lovren, he didn't do anything wrong, but we where by far to negative.

Star struck against a team that isn't very good, god forbid what we would be like if we faced someone decent

H2H is the first separater. If there is more than one team involved that bit is skipped and GD is first then away goals

They're all scared in big games. They should be over motivated if anything but it's like they've not played before

they don’t have the mentality but more importantly, they don’t have the quality. That’s the fundamental issue with the midfield.

As a trio, they’re simply not good enough.

And why are we playing Lovren in this game? Fair enough, use him against Watford to counter the aerial threat but we were up against a super quick attack.

Arghhh such a poor team selection. And why give Shaq only 15 mins!!
