That kid Milner looks energetic, we should sign him up on a longer contract, could solve our midfield problems for the next 15 years
so what did we learn tonight? Jones is, arguably, a better prospect than Brewster? Young Elliot looks very good Hoever is decent Milner is a machine Lovren is bang average Anything else?
Chamberlain didn't look bothered. Lallana and Lovren have found their level. Brewster was disappointing. Elliot should join the first team
Hopefully they will all learn from this and improve before the next round. Nice for Jones to get MOTM but it was Milner in the real world.
I expected more from Brewster - shame that. Might forgive Elliot for his tonsorial travesty if he continues to play like that.
I tjout ox was trying to hard, desperate to make something happen but it just wasn't there. Lallana was awful, I did have Hope's for him as back up in the 6 role but he was caught in possession numerous times and offered nothing. Lovren is our 4th choice cb and I'm happy to put him in 5th. Elliot and jones should be introduced to the first team. Should be getting minutes at the end of matches.
Neither was I, and your correct he was looking for the glory. A few times elliot made a good run and ox ignored him to play a silly ball instead
I expected to see him drive at the defence more, tbh. Games like this show how much a successful team is a well-oiled machine, and not a collection of individuals - and that efficiency and understanding is hard-won.
You're right and that's why it was important that we won, they all get another chance now an opportunity to get more experience or to get match fit. It wasn't terrible tonight but not great either.
Comfortable win for a completely rotated team Didn't even bother filling the subs bench Pochettino watch and learn
