^ this. Come on in games that are nailed down for 10/20 mins. The only way that he’ll learn how to deal with PL defenders in a match situation is to play. Ease the boy into it.
I thought that he wasn’t physically strong enough.....which is what you’d expect from the lad at what? 17?
Elliott looked good and I'm really, really trying not to dislike him. I can't remember the last player we had, if any, that I took an instant dislike to. I'm sure he's bothered ......
The only other game I've seen him in was the pre season one and he looked like a real baller then too. He's miles ahead of any 16yr old I've ever seen tbh.
His hair probably Also he seems like a massive ****, if that can be channeled correctly (on the pitch) then he has everything to make it.
His hairstyle is ridiculous but it's not that. Let's hope Klopp makes sure he channels his energy in the right direction. Thank goodness he's too young to be going out in town clubbing it.
You can just see elliot is a proper little full of himself ****cunt. I reckon his alleged arrogance can be used to improve his obvious talent. There was a point in the game at about 75mins when someone hit a deep crossfield ball from the left in behind the player marking Elliott, he could see the great opportunity it was and bust a gut to get to it but it was too strong and went out after him slicing a toe on it as he fell trying to reach it, I then saw and heard him really shout at himself "****ing fuuuck" and slap the floor in anger. I like that **** tbh, yesterday showed for me a few things. Hes got great vision and can see space like a seasoned pro. He clearly wants to do well and always wanted the ball. He believes in his own ability so much so he took on several players with ease & created chances. He's mature on the pitch, I think he gave away possession once. His positioning was on point. The Short to mid range passing was purposeful his movements were great, always moving to get the ball. 16 years old ffs. Brilliant prospect for me tbh, plus he called Harry Kane a mong
There's nothing wrong with arrogance if you have earned it by the way you play and the self belief and confidence that instills in yourself, see Ronaldo. Elliott looks like he could be a great player but also an outrageous headline waiting to happen. If he's disrespectful to fellow professionals at 16, what's he going to be like in a few years time. Let's hope he's getting social media coaching along with football coaching. (The Harry Kane thing may have been a joke with friends but keep it private)
Equally surrounded by better players and I think he will look better. His <untness is decreasing every day.
