I see people are using yesterdays game as some kind of evidence that if we had better defenders we would be some sort of world beaters. Now without a doubt we would could improve the squad by replacing a couple of defenders (lovren and moreno being priorities), however, some people seem to be missing the point that a huge part of the issue is our tactics. If we allow teams so much space by pressing high and in numbers then they will always get chances/score, yes we might score more but then again we might not.

As much as I like Klopp, he really needs to learn how to tighten things up when we have to, by that I do not mean bringing klavan on as a replacement for mane ala last night. he needs to get the whole squad working on how to tighten up play no matter who is on the pitch because it is about tactics of the team rather than the abilities of the individuals.

There's two or three tbing tbat would hrlp us greatly.

A) one of the 3 cms must sit and cover. We are seeing the lot of them press and sometimes two of them on one guy. They are wide open. Klopp needs an alonso type.

B) the cbs need to attack the ball wuth more agression.

C) we need little triangles of defending.

Compare mane, Robertson, milner as a triangle of murual support to wijnaldum and moreno give zero support to each other.

You are against Barca, darlings of UEFA, not only will you're player get a red card doing it, you know Suarez, Mascherano and Busquets who can all be filthy will do the same on mane and co and only get yellows
