You've said yourself often enough, it's about what you see with your eyes rather than stats. If he hadn't had such a good season last time we'd probably be very happy with him now, but we can see he's not quite at the level we know he can be.
However, he started about the same last year, iirc - and he's on 7 and 3 assists so far in all comps so he must be on for the 30 mark.
The problem is that we're naturally comparing all of our front 3 to the golden period of last season as opposed to the same time last year.
Still, we have a lot more points this time and look much better at the back so perhaps it's all good.

I wouldn't be yesterday. Granted he worked hard to win it back but he was one giving it away. Im not really comparing him to anything but himself and his awareness of what around him ws quite low. His passing poor... again.

Like... ok lovren is getting it for their goal but alisson was coming for in opposed gathering of ball and was just as dine but gets nothing.

It seems to me we all think lallana was poor but how dare I say firmino was miles off where he could be?

I thought we were talking about Salah?

I've already said that Bobby is off the boil, but I disagree with the general polarisation of players - if they're not brilliant they're ****e.

We were I just jumped to another example. I detect a wee bit of staunch defense of our no 9 like as if I were a rival fan telling pokies. Not saying who

But do you agree or disagree with polarisation? I'm confused.

I disagree with the general conclusion amongst many fans that if a player isn't brilliant then they're crap. There are a lot of grey areas between the two extremes.
Firmino is getting through a lot of work closing down and winning the ball back and his running off the ball is good. His touch is dodgy when he gets it and his passing is off. So some good and some bad, imo.
He's not being played in his best position either, imo, he's too deep.

The team raised expectations last year regarding the football they can play especially during the CL run. When they don't reach the same level there are a lot of disappointed fans wondering why.

then I agree with you.

they are all pro footballers so watching them.just warm up is humbling enough.

lovren and Henderson get abuse but they are not crap. Moreno is a bit dim but no worse than Shaw imo positionally.

they are either untouchable or just abused no matter what.

e.g. that Huddersfield.chance. vvd misses it but lovren ****s it up?

Henderson isn’t crap. I am harsh on him but he isn’t completely rubbish. Just average.

Lovren is dogshit. One of the worst defenders to play for this club.

I just find it interesting that

salah was involved twice in first goal
passes to has for cross and is then on other side for goal.

crossed to vvd for his chance.

ran in behind and was clearly fouled for a.pen.

set up shaqiri

set up mane

but he's out of form apparently.
Mo's movement for that goal was excellent and one of the reasons he scores as many as he does. He covered 30 yds. or so to be involved at
the far post and score. But most importantly that was where the space was, he didn't run direct towards the goal and into traffic.

Seen a bit of Arsenal since Dick took over and we really need to go at them from the KO as they are really slow starters in fact they often don't seem to start playing till the second half.
Their defence is still pretty crap even with the cover in front of them from , normally ,Torreira (sp) and Xhaka and i'm convinced we will score & i would be surprised if we don't get at least 2.
In short i'm pretty confident despite the run they are on.

Edit - but not today apparently <laugh> as Xhaka playing LB as per Europa League game in midweek
