What do you guys think of him?

We(Celtic)sadly missed him this year, especially in Europe.

Teams for some reason lol played round him, never really through him.

Talk Sport guys were quite complimentary about him.

PS big Artur is brilliant, but nuts lol.

He's a quality player and he is part of the reason why we were so mean defensively before he got injured. He is a beast and we have missed him although not that much as Cork is a very good deputy.

The guy's a freaking warrior. One of the main reasons we were so good defensively.

There's a select minority who seem to have some sort of agenda against him, but other than them, opinion is still fairly split. His passing has been sloppy for us, which has turned some people against him because his positional rival, Jack Cork, is fairly more reliable on the ball. In terms of winning possession, as far as I'm concerned Victor is irreplaceable. Cork puts in a good shift but I think Victor is a lot more valuable, his presence is unreal - as well as being obviously talented at winning it back himself, he forces teams to avoid playing it through the middle. It's really something we've missed in the last few games, as teams haven't been afraid to take Cork on as much. I personally want him to come straight back into the team when he's fit (hopefully we can find a way to make sure Cork gets his share of minutes too), but Big Vic has been very impressive.

He only does **** passes as he loves winning the ball back seconds later so much.

I think he's been huge and its no co-incidence that we've spluttered without him.

Great analysis of him. He is still young and hopefully his passing improves.
Agree totally about teams avoiding him. That's the reason Barca hammered us and why they couldn't do that last year. Our defence was exposed badly. We get away with it in the SPL, but Vic in Europe was immense.

Imagine him in a couple of years time.

Would love to have seen him and Bobo Balde in the same Celtic defence. Bloody frightening thought and I am a hoops fan.

You got a good buy IMO. Clubs will avoid playing through him and so are forced wide. Predict this and your half way there.

How are your full backs lol? They better get used to seeing a lot if the ball with Vic in your side.

We have three excellent fullbacks. Clyne and Chambers on the right and Luke Shaw on theleft so no worries there.

    Win ball.
    Bad pass.
Win ball again.......look irreplaceable......push up your value lol.

Didn't think he was that clever, but there you go.

I LOVE Jack Cork but, at the same time, I think that Victor adds something that Jack can't, namely that the opposition fear him. From the first moment I saw him (away at WBA) I've been of the opinion that his official height of 6'2" is a lie. He's at least 8'6" tall.

Yes, his passing's wayward on occasionally and he sometimes looks like a frightened (very big) rabbit when he's on the ball but he's so solid defensively that it outweighs his faults. It's like a beneficial drug; if the side-effects are small enough you're still better off taking it than not. Focussing solely on the side-effects misses the point.

I'm not surprised you miss him.

Against Barca last year, Messi, Iniesta and Xavi were all fighting to play wide rather than through the middle.

    Any ideas why lol?

There´s a reason both Villa and Spurs scored 3 at our place and it´s not entirely due to goalkeeping.

More the abscence of Big Vic...

I think his positional play is underestimated sometimes. He has, however a slight tendency to wander wide. Needs to stick to the middle, but he predicts the game well. Always seems to be in the right position to make the right tackle.

Fullbacks are quite good, and we deploy them in a very advanced position...when Wanyama's in the side, he drops back into what is effectively a back three while Shaw/Clyne rampage on the flanks.

    He will be a monster.
Full backs love getting forward and he can drop into the back three. It's awesome. Broken leg? Whatever, only out for a month.

Boruc broke his hand against a goalpost, but the goalpost never got up after.

If the coaching team work on his passing and improve it, he'll be a diamond
