NP needs to sort it out, show us the sort of manager he is......no good coming out with all this "Donkey players" stuff. He knew the job when he signed up, in temporary appointment through to 3 year contract.
Questions are.....Does he know his best 11, is he able to change tactics, can he get the best out of the players we have? Come January, does he know what players he wants that will enable us to progress???.
The majority of the performances have been dire and predictable....we need him to get his act together change it up and sort it out.
You've hinted, that he may bottle it and walk away.....by doing that, would surely show, he's not the manager you thought he was..
Certainly the results dictate that something has to change and fast. I am astonished that NP hasn't got better from this squad although I also think that some aren't buying in to the progamme. There is talent in this bunch but the big problem is just not enough to give us more bite and desire and unless Nigel can come up with a workable solution we could be up the creek, without wishing Reading a points deduction. Looking at the record since NP arrived doesn't make good reading but just by analyzing that data unfortunately we are barely worthy of our place in the Championship and unless some earth shattering event makes us better then that could be our fate.
The problem is Bristol City FC have been a soft touch for players over many decades and now there is a guy in town that will not put up with it the toys have been thrown out the pram.
Funny how James-Atkinson-Tanner-Messengo-Baker-Kalas -Bentley-Weimann have bought into and doing okay the rest are absolutely not buying into his way.
Hence a cull of five or so players before we can move forward.
I believe he should be getting more out of the players we have.. You've listed 8 straight off...Missing out the likes of Scott, Pring, Williams (when fit) etc..

A manager has to get players to buy into their methods and vision, just bullying them is not going to work in the modern era. So far, I see no plan for how NP wants us to play, so how the hell can players buy into that, constant changes of formation do not help? It's interesting the majority of players you say have 'bought in' are defenders, whose job is fairly set. The fact that apart from Weimann you have not listed an offensive player who has 'bought in' highlights the issue to me. I'm not even sure AW has tbh, I think he just works his socks off regardless.

Warnock and Bowyer sides play ‘Long Ball’. LJ used to play defensive - build from the back (too much so for many).

This is my opinion as well. I just can’t see what way he wants to play. His subs have been shocking IMO.
Also players are used to managers on the touch line, guiding, encouraging and dictating. Not sat in the stands like on a jolly. Big Sam done this but only for the first half.
These ****ing corners had to be coached to have all the players in the 18 yard box.
Long throws by Kalas have not worked since it took Reading by surprise and took game after game to ditch it.
I’m not Nige out, but I was expecting so much more than this. We can blame players all we like but that is like the famous saying “a bad workman always blames his tools”
Que “name one player that will do this”, “the players got x and y sacked” “they are not championship standard” and “Nige is the most paid manager in our life time and will sort this out”

However top 8 teams averaged shots on target per game is 4.19 whilst top [ 2/3 ] teams is around 5.2 [ in top 8 NORWICH 238 on target .. Swansea just 161 ! [ 32 more than city and scored 10 goals more ]

I like that he’s honest about our performances post match, but it’s annoying too, when radio Bristol congratulated him after Barnsley he said, and I paraphrase, why congratulate me we were awful, I agreed but he’s the manager , ffs do something about it then that’s your job. First half against Birmingham I thought we were unlucky to be behind we did look more of a team and IMO were marginally the better team. Second half well the less said the better.
City needed 2.80 on target [129 ] for each goal [ 46 ] ... its currently 3 shots [ 51 ] = 1 goal [ 17 ]
Fulham currently 2.25 ..... However the average conversion seems to be around the 3.31 mark, so CITY up the on target and more goals means more goals opponents have to score to take 3 points from us .....

So if Nige is not upto the mark or leaves for whatever reason I'll ask a question that was asked many times under the previous regimes, who do wish to replace him, simple question WHO?
I think we have to give the man a chance, I'm not a fanatic believer just a simple fan and if and when the bandwagon dictates I will be there with them, luvie I'm not, a hater I've never been, silly little facts and figures mean nothing, points mean prizes and status counts but let's give him time the same as a certain previous stakeholder benefited from.

I’m definitely not calling for his head, I want him to succeed with the job to progress us as appointed for..
But performance & results have been very disappointing. We’ve usually accumulated a substantial amount of points not to be too concerned in a relegation dog fight, although in the past we tail off from December onwards.. last season, I believe we were saved by the good start and could have been disastrous had we not..
I’m hoping that NP has answers, so far, I’m struggling with his actions gelling this team together.
I like others, am struggling to understand his style, tactics and what he feels is his best starting 11 is and how to play them..
He suggests that counter attacking is our best option, that alone for me, is worrying.. our defensive play suggests to me, it is not..
I’m hoping that he has a plan b & c in his locker and is willing to change it around if and when that fails..
There are some on OTIB and Faece-Book calling for his head, but I don’t think anyone on this forum has yet - which is testimony to the level-headedness of our regular posters.
Not calling for his head, I’m disappointed with him so far. We all thought the light will lift and will see a new dawn. I’m not sold on he got Leicester promoted, as we know Hollowhead and Phil Brown have promotion previously and look at them. And that’s just 2 I can name.
I said previously I hate this sitting in the stands, not happy with subs and the surrender in the last few minutes. Can’t stand the corner routine and that once worked long throw done my nut in.
I want him to have a chance, but also want us to stay in this league.
In respect to replace him with, there are one or two I could name. But I will keep them till it’s needed. As I got the Russell Martin totally wrong when he was banded about. Thought he would be a bad choice but got Swansea doing well, after a bad start.
Well said Wiz. Nobody wants any BCFC manager to fail, or at least I don't, and never have (even Pulis). Equally, you can't say Manager X has had 1,3,5 years; therefore, so should Manager Y, life and football don't work that way. You have to prove yourself in the here and now with what you have, not compare to different times and different people. He may not have the funds of pre-COVID times, but the appeal of him was his experience at this level and higher, something we haven't had at the club since the 5 min reign of Steve Copout.
Hence why we should give him and Lansdown until January and see what happens before any knee Jerk reactions.
For me he has a poisoned football club with poison running through it.
He clearly needs to turn things around sharply and make sure we don't get relegated.
For me and it has shown for a considerable time the players he inherited are not good enough collectively to take THE FOOTBALL CLUB FORWARD.
Deep down Nigel Knows that but he has to be very careful what he says to the media.
Next year will be very interesting with regard to how SL wants to take the football club forward.NP i'm sure has had assurances or he would never have taken the job.
