Should have taken all three from Hull, Sunderland and Wigan (Blackpool are the only club this season to taken the first goal) but these things happen. We’ve turned a corner, got some cracking academy players coming through. Two that can command big fees now, one that if carries on scoring like this could be a fortune next summer. Lots to be positive about. We’ve still got our best defender to come back this season.
I think the future is getting brighter after the past few seasons. Get this FFP of our back this season will enable us to push on next season.
Can’t agree with 3 points against Sunderland, we didn’t turn up in the second half, and should have lost by more than 1 if we’re being honest.

Once we get our defending sorted out, and I’m sure we will I’m starting to see hope for this team, COYR
That's been 3 seasons in the making....that's a department that has struggled to improve... the problem is, that we switch off, allowing the opposition to take control..... I really don't understand after so many games conceding late on why this hasn't been addressed.....
Here you go Nige
When there are minutes to go with a lead;
Keep possession, don't pass across the box where there's danger, don't fanny around at the back, continue to press as previous....if in doubt...ROW Z!
If NP can't organise it from the sidelines, he needs to have a leader (captain) on the pitch that can......Not Bents..

But yes, in the main, much better..

If only Nige read this board - he’d know how to fix it.

I don’t disagree, (btw Bents shouldn’t be captain), like you it frustrates me too many goals in general are our errors, but I just think recently there are far more positives than negatives, we do at last seem to be playing much better and at least we are competing in games. As I said in a previous post we are in general much more positive in our approach, which plays to our strengths.

Yes - we play to our STRENGTHS for 75 minutes - then regress to playing to our WEAKNESSES after that.
I agree things are improving - but to be undone time and time again in the SAME manner fking pisses me off big time.

I agree there have been more positives than negatives so far this season, but the caveat is, we haven't played any of the good/big sides yet, where any mistake is more likely to get punished. If we are giving away such soft goals against the teams we have met so far, we risk being well beaten by the better attacking teams in this division. That is my fear.

Bents ain’t no captain-needs to go to Naismith in the heart of defence.

Bents needs to concentrate on his game

I agree, although I think Blackpool would equally point to very poor defending for our 2nd, and particularly our 3rd.
In all fairness we weren't even defending, we had possession of the ball up towards the half way line, but decided to dick around and play it back, causing unnecessary havoc!!

In my view, and I know it's early days, but there doesn't seem to be a stand-out club in the division.

After all the results that have so far been forthcoming, I don't see one team that we should fear. That may obviously change, but let them all have concerns about our goal scoring potential! I'm now pretty sure that some opponents are in for a pasting this season!!

it is early days yes ... the first few games where a team is getting readjusted from in's and outs.. and a playing gel ..
Burnley and Norwich both been readjusting and starting to come good. Reading is a bit of a surprise as is Hull and Rotherham.
Middsbro/ WBA/ Stoke? / Swansea were early expectations ...
PNE and Rotherham only 2 undefeated! PNE only team not to conceed a goal and only team NOT to score more than 1 goal [ 5 x 0 - 0 and a 1 - 0 win! ]

Exactly let teams worry about us not us about them.

No Bentley-Naismith-Vyner need to stop being cocking and losing concentration that would help.
I disagree, I believe it's either ingrained or a tactic..
Here's a question for you?
We all agree that we have improved our game and look really good going forward, possibly our ultimate strength....
So why when we have the ball on the half way line, don't we play to our strengths and play it forward, rather than play to our weakness and play it back, with a suicide pass I might add? It's not rocket science, but just plain common sense.......NP make note!!
