And been a huge gloryseeker .My fathers cousin not mine. Alan A’Court and if I’d have known as a kid I dare say I’d have supported Liverpool

leeds even at their peak in the early 70s were dour, dirty, sly, unimaginative with an undercurrent of illegality
If you had to be a glory hunter back then, why choose this lot when you could have the charisma of MUFC, the Kop & Shankly of LFC, the glamour of CFC
It's like if you had to pick a fantasy woman, you opted for Janice Long over Raquel Welch and Brigit Bardot cos she was relatively local
Well saidThis boils down to the territorial nature of football support. Leeds have a wide fan base spread over densely populated West Yorkshire with a greater diospora and a greater legacy of glory support from long gone glory days. Hull is the most isolated city in Yorkshire with only rural support across East Yorkshire making us much more like the big NE clubs but without the legacy of historical glory they have, therefore resentment of local glory seekers is far more fierce here. We don't fear lower league football but do fear losing the local support we have built back up since 2002 to top 4 clubs again, which I doubt Leeds will become again even if you do go up.
Looked to have been a proper footballer back in the day and gave good service to Liverpool before there latest spell in the top flight .My fathers cousin not mine. Alan A’Court and if I’d have known as a kid I dare say I’d have supported Liverpool
If I supported Liverpool and said a family member used to play for them I’m sure more would have understood why. I just wanted a better understanding of the hatred towards many Leeds fans by Hull and Originalminority answered it for me.And been a huge gloryseeker .
Just a shame my father wasn’t into Football and I was amazed when I found out.Looked to have been a proper footballer back in the day and gave good service to Liverpool before there latest spell in the top flight .

I wonder why the plastics don't pick Scunthorpe.

Know some brothers from N. Wales, moved here decades ago. Massive LFC fans.
But why not Wrexham, Chester, Tranmere or even Everton?
We all know the answer. .
It goes towards explaining their irrational comments and bitterness in their attempts to justify their lack of local pride.
They're trying to fill a gap in their personality, and any failings on the pitch is a direct reflection on them, whereas others that follow their given team are comfortable enough with themselves to let nature take its course.
It must leave an empty feeling cheering on a place you've no real connection to and that must reinforce the in built feelings of inadequacy that causes them to feel the need to 'pick' a team in the first place.
No need to feel 'special' about it.
Local MUFC, LFC 'fans' detested for exactly same reason.
The crazy thing is they support a local rugby team in one sport yet hate the local football team and support a club from 100 miles away. .
Some ****ed up folks about.
Yeah I think it's most places its irritating .Well sadly the same thing happens here in Leeds too, especially with Liverpool 'fans'. When challenged why they support Rhinos but not LUFC, they are unable to give a plausible answer.
Looks like it must be a rugby league thing . It certainly is in Hull and the east riding. These people seem to have very small brains though . Ah bless.Well sadly the same thing happens here in Leeds too, especially with Liverpool 'fans'. When challenged why they support Rhinos but not LUFC, they are unable to give a plausible answer.

Whoever's decision it was to parade the away fans across the east stand to the north stand needs sacking could have caused a full scale riotThe other night v Barsley the police came in Cod.
Yes that'a right - 18 years after we left BP and with gates at their lowest in 20 years, and with only a few hundred away fans (none within a country mile of the Silver Cod), it was deemed necessary to pay a visit.
Someone, somewhere gets paid handsomely for this nonsense, and it gets presented at some debriefing as effective policing and money well--spent.
I wonder if the Fire Brigade visit the sites of old fires years later to check there's no embers burning?
