There's healthy and unhealthy vegan, vegetarian, pescetarian diets. Eat sensibly and there's no reason for any lack of nutrients (other than arguably B12, which can be lacking for meat eaters too). One of the biggest fallacies is with the question 'where do vegans / vegetarians get their protein'. Similar with calcium. In fact, cow's puss has been shown to leach calcium from bones. Funny that isn't advertised by the milk and meat boards; their historic false claims have had to be dropped from adverts now.
Even if there was a little bit of increased risk, which with a sensible veggie diet there isn't likely to be, there's proven beyond doubt to be less risk of a whole host of other diseases!! Never mind the compassion and environmental aspects.
