My biggest concern for VAR is if I am not at a game but watching on the television. If we score I could be anywhere in the house/garden/street celebrating and that could be somewhat disappointing if I return to the television to see it’s still 0-0.

The way it's going, you could get to the break and the score would be different after you've returned from your halftime cuppa.

PS Having said that I do agree with those who say that the way it is implemented is causing a lot of the problems just now.

For a few years now I've been opposing technology every time it's been mentioned. I've seen nothing to change my mind. The only one that's worked is goal-line tech, because it gives a result inside a second.

Supporters have the attitude of "technology is good". There's never any detail about how it should work, just a blanket view that it's a good idea. To date it's looking very much like it's not. as far as I'm concerned there is no way to make it work without ruining the main joy of football, namely that it flows.

The best innovation in recent years IMO was the rule (in the Chamionship season I believe) where you could play a replacement ball for throw-ins, etc. It speeded up the game and improved the flow.

If VAR's introduced it'll likely stop me going to live football.
