Even if they kept Van Persie, I don't think he would have been as effective as Fabregas wasn't that good in his last season at Arsenal due to him being denied a transfer; he even handed (or should I say heeled?) Barcelona a goal when they played each other in the Champions League! Without Van Persie I still think Man Utd would have won the league, they would have based the team around Rooney who seems to go unnticed-look at his ball yesterday! I agree about the fact that Man U's title contenders have been crap this year, the PL would be pretty bad if RVP wasn't at Man Utd, then they wouldn't have been miles ahead; the title race would have been better if that was the case.

Hmm, United may have won it without RVP but it would have been much, much closer. No matter what pundits preach, I still believe Rooney is no lone striker, which is why he is often useless for England. He's best as an attacking midfielder, just as he was when playing for Everton.
