He was only given a contract until the end of the season. Many within broadcasting are expecting a return to Sky after the Euros. If he did do one, do do one one...then you'd have to question why the **** they hired him in the first place.
Giving him the job was never going to be a short term fix, in fact I would have fully expected a drop off.
He can only ever be a long term project, so to speak, and I hope they stick to their guns.

Pointless appointment if so.
Can't even begin to imagine the logic behind it.
He's a ****, I can't stand him. Glad he's failing only problem is if thy sack him I'll have to endure him back on the Telly.
The irony is he's gotten a lot better since Neville went, almost stepped out of his shadow. Maybe he won't be too pleased what's going on at Valencia eitherGary I can listen too! But carragher on the other hand![]()
Sorry Glp but it annoys me he got a job with England with no coaching/managerial experience but he's "passionate" about England.Have you watched the documentary about the class of '92? I thought they were utter ****s, it has changed my opinion of them. Plus Gary Neville has been a very decent pundit in fairness, probably a better pundit than football manager on present showing. They do come across well in the class of '92, probably worth a watch.

He's so passionate he was willing to go on strike while playing for England but only backed down because Fergie rang him and told him it could affect Man U and Ferguson couldnt allow that. He's a ****.
It wasn't about logic, it was down to Valencia's owner being a mate of Neville's.
Saw g Neville interviewed when got the England coaching job and he talked really well about the fact that we are considered to have no footballing 'culture' nowadays. He basically said that British football has a really distinctive culture that should be celebrated and followed by the national team, not avoided as is at present. Couldn't agree more, but doesn't make him a good manager, he needs to prove it. I'm looking At his progress with real interest as I hope he succeeds, but not getting obsessed, as there are lots of good British managers that just need the chance to shine. Next England manager for me is pardue. Has his critics, but often succeeds.
