Was on holiday in Turkey right when the military coup was happening...only found out about it through panicked messages from our friends to us the next, lol. Ridiculously cheap and well worth visiting.
8 bells is closest to the station but is always packed unless you get there early. Plenty of other pubs close by('The Temperance' which is jut across the main road by entrance to the park, has always been my choice, plenty of screens and very spacious)
I have often wondered what would happen if you dropped a top 8 Premier league team into the Championship, how would they cope? I think we might find out this season. I think we will show the gulf in class with the majority of the other teams. I expect us to waltz home this season, with ease... I think we will have a good away record with Rafa. He sets teams up to win, not draw, unlike other managers we have had..
Who is the top 8 PL team? On paper and results we are where we deserve to be. Our current squad would be in a relegation battle in the PL even with Rafa.
Asking for trouble with that post - the cries of delusion will be deafening from down the road. However the signs are there that last season was an anomaly due to poor management that wasnt acted on by those in charge quick enough. The results at the end of the season, the fact that some of our players are being transferred for significant fees and replaced with quality championship level signings and the fact that we now have a manager who is proven at the highest level suggest that this should be an enjoyable season. Am hoping we set some early markers for the season and then push on playing attractive attacking football. And if we do get promoted we dont waste the momentum a successful season should give us the way we did last time.
I know, just thought I would put it out there and gauge the backlash from a safe distance, lol. I though of posting it on the mackem board for a laugh, also.
Got to say that I think the squad was good enough to stay up last season but as you say let down by Tufty and in particular Chumley's inability to make the tough decision and sack Tufty sooner, the silver lining in all of this has been Rafa and the change in philosophy from the top in allowing him to get on with his job and actually take the club forward.
We always go to the Temperance Bar which is big, decent beer and a pleasant 15 minutes walk through Bishop's Park. The service is slow so 'double up' with your beers. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/uv?hl...ved=0ahUKEwjm4-uv5KXOAhWNOsAKHXFfCGoQoioIfDAK
Where is everyone watching their streams nowadays? I heard a lot of streams were closed down. I gave up on my Andriod box.
This was our team in March 2014 when we lost 1-0 to Fulham when they had that Magath clown: Team: Krul, Yanga-Mbiwa, Dummett, Anita (Marveaux 81), Williamson, Coloccini, Tiote, Sissoko, Cisse (Shola Ameobi 71), L.De Jong (Armstrong 86), Gouffran. Subs n/u: Alnwick, Gosling, Haidara, S.Taylor What a stinking pile of horse piss! I think we can universally agree we can put out a far better team now.
You get anything and everything through kodi. I'm not sure on the stream side of things. They still have them up but PL is obviously better covered. With Friday being a sky game, I'm going to the local working mens club for cheapish quality beer and a night out. Seems rude not to.
