Now hang about. We've not won in 8 so the priority was to win.

We couldn't do much positionally today but we have closed the gap a little, depending on results to come ofc.

We did everything we needed to do today. In no way have we scrapped through it either.

Little steps pal, win one, bow let's go win another, then another.... Before you know it, we could just turn this around. The leagues certainly open to anyone having a go.
Swansea could and possibly should have scored twice in the last few minutes. We were hanging on in the end. At home. To Swansea.

If Martial gets injured we're ****ed.

£250million spent and we are laughably exposed to the continued fitness and form of a 20 year old who was bought at the last minute supposedly, according to Van Gaal, for the next manager.

Planning!

Says the guy who thought Young was playing terrible today , I rest my case ...Lol

What does that have to do with what you've posted?? BTW, you should've read my response to you on Young. You might learn something about the game.

Your opinion on football and our fans is clueless <ok>

We've won. So all is well <laugh> After all, ONLY the result counts... in this moment, regardless of any indicators for future performances.

Beaten by a fluky goal. I'll take that ;)

Much better second half from both sides <ok>

We were lucky Schweinsteiger gave the assist for the first. A player who actually looks up and targets the front man. Had that been Young, we probably wouldn't have scored tbf.

First half was same old story but second half was good. Had real intent going forward from the kick off in the second. Both goals were great and Young, Martial were top class

Rooney did well today, he's slorwly improving but still miles away from his best.

Giggsy must have taken charge second half :)

Great finish from Rooney though <ok>

Looked every bit the price paid today. Shame we didn't start with Barrow.

By all accounts the first half was absolutely dire. It improved in the second half. And in the end we scraped a much needed win.

I was expecting LVG to radically change his approach with the debacles against Norwich and Stoke and the performance against the chavs was an improvement but against the worst team(apart from villa) we should have won.

LVG may find it difficult to tell his players to go forward more after having told them for 18 months that possession is all. But he's got no choice. Surely he must now have realised that the game is up and that the fans want the attacking and exciting style to go with the results.

A stay of execution and the RS match will be crucial. Losing or drawing yet again against a mediocre going nowhere team will be unacceptable <ok>

can't agree more ...
hope we strength ourselves in January
at the start of the season, i did said we needed a CB and a ST.. sadly we didn't addressed that
i think the lost of Shaw had effected us, without him suddenly we have no width, he used to run into the box alot and in the back, aside from Smalling our center backs looks more a patching up work , if Smalling is injured, we are fkd.. and attacking wise, aside from Martial, we have no threats going up ... in the plus side, Rooney is getting better, but still not enough to lift the club
we need signings.. is shame that after spending 250m, we are still short of players

At least he is the silver lining and the light in the darkness. How someone could even compare him to bebe is beyond me. :bandit:

But of course we all know that we should at least 3 top quality strikers. To completely rely on him (and Rooney) with no proper backup is totally ****ed up. Giggs ought to get some balls and tell LVG some home truths.

I think Martial should be the one on the end of the crosses. He's being wasted out wide when he should be playing up front. He's got lovely skills so why not play him there. :undecided:

They could have, however they didn't. This is very important. In football, unless you are Liverpool, imaginary goals are not often given and could havez should have, maybe counts for very little.

We've not won since November, we've not scored either. So ot was never going tobl be pretty bit we got the goals and the points. We deserved the won, no question. Good team spirit to keep going after they levelled and had a little spell too. Something we haven't seen enough of.

Swansea had kept a few clean sheets O believe and had been unlucky against Pool and City recently, plus their record v us is good so was never an easy game.

Just happy for the 3 points.

Then we lose the entire left side, which has been very important for us this season, largely due to Martial.

Memphis isn't cutting it and Young is covering the right side. Hopefully we can get Mane in after he was dripped by Saints today.
