I watched Easy Rider last night (it’s on Netflix). Must be 40 years since I watched it the first time. What I’d forgotten was, the freewheeling, young and liberated American characters get killed by red necks with guns.
The point being, this division and conflict in the Land of the Free is nothing new; been going on for decades - centuries really.
One bit of dialogue stood out. Jack Nicholson’s drunk lawyer character says to Dennis Hopper’s confused restless misfit “They’ll talk all day about individual freedom. But show them a free individual and you’ll scare the hell out of them”
Hopper says, “ it don’t make em running scared”,
to which Nicholson replies, with a stare,
“It makes em dangerous”.
The point being, this division and conflict in the Land of the Free is nothing new; been going on for decades - centuries really.

Putin is smarter than he's letting on in his words, he knows you gain notoriety by only doing half a job. It sends out a clear message, we decide if you LIVE or die. It's like I was saying on here about the American execution of that killer/abductor by lethal injection the other day. There is no punishment in that, you are dead. The fear is in knowing what we can can do, not what we've done. When you kill someone (at that level) it soon gets forgot about in the general domain. The only time the opposite applies is when it's a president or civil rights leader. Spies, no one gives a fook about them. It's like choosing between torture or death, which would you fear more.

Is this the guy the Germans saved. Bit of a dickhead for getting on a plane, but I guess if the Russians wanted him that much, they'd have got him sooner or later anyway.
I didn't really follow the story that closely but I remember him becoming sick. I was surprised he was still alive despite the medical intervention of the Germans. I just felt it was more a message to him, and these twats just don't learn, they are always on some mission.
Watched a news article on some of these Trump supporters today, commonly known as domestic terrorists, that's the land of the free for you.
I wouldn't feel particularly free, walking up the street, where someone can point a big weapon st me.
I doubt it’ll amount to much tbh. There’s national guard in all of the state capital buildings and the cosplaying Trumper COD wannabes won’t have the bottle. They’ll just walk around in body armour with semi automatics looking like twats for a bit, get a bit shouty then go home for their tea.
