Whether or not Trump is re-elected, there is going to be a massive shake of social media and Big Tech's vice-like grip on it.

Watch this space.

I think I have enough experience to know a shake up of social media would actually have to infringe on, what you take for granted as your freedom of expression within it. The only way you can truly shake up social media is by identity checking every single user/member, fooking good luck with that one. Imagine the stranglehold that would have on a professionally qualified individual such as yourself. Basically HiaG wouldn't be able to exist.

Please copy and paste folks, especially @Hoddle is a god and sisu.

Don’t forget tomorrow starts the new Not606 rule where they can use your photos. Don’t forget Deadline today!!! It can be used in court cases in litigation against you. Everything you’ve ever posted becomes public from today Even messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. It costs nothing for a simple copy and paste, better safe than sorry. Channel 13 News talked about the change in not606 privacy policy. I do not give not606 or any entities associated with not606 permission to use my pictures, information, messages or posts, both past and future. With this statement, I give notice to not606 it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents. The content of this profile is private and confidential information. The violation of privacy can be punished by law (UCC 1-308- 1 1 308-103 and the Rome Statute. NOTE: nor605 is now a public entity. All members must post a note like this. If you prefer, you can copy and paste this version. If you do not publish a statement at least once it will be tacitly allowing the use of your photos, as well as the information contained in the profile status updates. @brb NOR ANYONE ELSE DOES NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO SHARE PHOTOS OR MESSAGES

Are you being stupid on purpose?

So, you're telling me that if the data from Twitter and Facebook shows that not a single Democrat had his account locked or his posts banned, and that every single Republican who reported on an issue of seminal importance in the election did, that that would have no effect on the Senate's case to remove those platform's rights under section 230?

Is that your genuine assertion?

Probably down to the fact that people on the right are more likely to motivated by bigotry and hate.

Verified accounts - like you need for an online bookies account for example - are a long way off imo mate. Additional regulation on SM platforms is much more likely, especially focusing on racism, hate speech, inciting violence and blatant misinformation. The large platforms can easily manage this largely via complex algorithms, much like YouTube already uses to pick out copyright infringement. The issue comes for small forums like this one.

Lol!

So, ANTIFA and BLM, who align themselves to the Democrats, are not violent? The MSM hasn't turned a blind eye to their rioting and violence?

It's interesting that you use the word bigot, Archie. Hypocrite is another good one that you should get to grips with.

  • Atlantic Hurricane bastard
  • Kenyan baby stealers
  • Some cemetery in Africa getting water
  • Crook Putin being exempted from prosecution
  • Dolly Parton curing Covid 19 with her tits
...

Oh, **** me! There it is!

8th on the list, after the Dolly Parton story.

Who mentioned violence? We're talking about media platforms here ffs, the only aggression is going to be verbal. Incitement to ra ial hatred, for example, is more likely to come from the right. So, I'd certainly argue, is deliberate dishonesty.

**** is a word you should consider getting to grips with mate. Stupid is another one.
Stupid ****. Google it <ok>

I suppose the hurdle for someone like myself is how does one decide what is it right and what is wrong, especially when it comes to misinformation. Hence as you say, that's a problem for small forums. If regulation means as such an end to small forums, that then impedes on freedom of expression. I've known several people who have had to leave the forum or even change their identity (username) so employer's can't track them, especially in a world of social media contracts. They've done nothing wrong, they just want to keep their personal thoughts and work life separate. Just because someone behaves in work, because they are working for the government or a corporate/professional body, does not mean they hold those same views in personal life, it just means like all of us, they have bills to pay. Complex situation indeed.

If it wasn't for me and aberdude making a monumental effort to keep this thread going, all you'd have is a bunch of weasels sniffing one another's ring-pieces.
