If I was to hazard a guess I'd say none of this will go anywhere, but I suspect it's a delay tactic as well. The question is how long will all this take?
The states have to fully verify results by 8th December & the electoral college meet on the 14th.

It looks likely there’ll be an automatic recount in Georgia but I don’t think they’ve formally requested recounts anywhere else yet, as iirc if the margin is greater than 0.25% and under 1%, they can request a recount but they’ll have to pay for it, and it’d run into multi $M’s per state. During their history, recounts have only ever found error rates in the hundreds, so they’ll know that’s futile.

What’s going to happen is that they’ll run out of steam and excuses for why they lost, then they’ll try and bribe and plead with the EC representatives - just watch.

I'm watching a very interesting interview on CNN.

Trump's people are trying to take votes, from the spouses of service people who have temporarily left the state to be with their partners.

Amy Rose is from Nevada, she is currently living in California, with her husband who is serving at Harris base there.

Nevada is their permanent home and state law recognises this and allows her to vote there.

There are plenty more people in her situation, from Nevada who have voted legally, the same way.

Trump will stop at nothing, to try and get his way, but for me this is disgraceful. Turning on people serving the country!

If he is capable of this sort of fraud, how can he be trusted at all.

Because he thinks people who serve in the US forces are suckers.

clearly has no respect for them.

And then ultimately claim they were done by the establishment because he can never admit defeat with good grace.

It's thousands as well - forces families and students. And this is the 'credible evidence'. they swore they had to reveal. So this will overturn a 37k lead...

Credible evidence my arse.

And as I said further up the thread, that would still have to be ratified by both houses if they went against the vote, and when Congress kicked it out it would go back to the Governor of the relevant state - who happens to be a Democrat in Pennsylvania.

Their legal claims have zero substance, that looks fairly certain. But while they are being pursued, lasting damage is being done to the credibility of the US constitution. And Trump’s base are being whipped into a frenzy by far right mouthpieces on social media and all over the Net. Worrying times.

Trump is like one of those ‘have a go’ no claim no fee shysters who’ll try and make a claim on all sorts of spurious nonsense.

He’ll just pursue it for the sake of pursuing it, giving no actual regard to the validity of any substance. And like you say, he also has no regard for the **** storm he leaves in his wake.

I know mate, I wasn’t suggesting it’d succeed, as 33 States have rules that the EC electors face fines or being replaced by another elector if they vote against the will of the people in their State. It just so happens that the 33 states who have these rules have virtually universally voted Democrat in this election. From memory I think it’s only Georgia and Arizona of the states he’s won, that don’t. The best they could realistically hope for is a handful of ‘faithless electors’ but it won’t stop them trying imo.

The very fact they're trying it in the first place is a clear and present threat to the constitution, imo. Trump needs to be deposed asap under the 25th amendment, and if Pence and the rest of the team will not do it, then McConnell needs to step up. And after all this there needs to be another amendment, but that needs two-thirds. If the Republicans in Trump's cabinet won't act, those in both houses need to get a grip, or the Republican Party needs to be condemned forever.

They're scared of a Trump breakaway party, but there's an answer to that : lock the ****er up for 20 years for the crimes that everyone knows he's committed. And watch the Russians dish up the dirt once they know their man is toast and they need to curry favours from a new administration. The only sane way to end this is with trump in jail, and watch his redneck MAGAhidin fall to bits at the first whiff of grapeshot - guns or not, they won't be so brave facing armed National Guard as they are unarmed, peaceful Black lives Matter protesters. Stamp the scum out now, and decapitate the monster.

Completely agree with this last bit. It needs to happen. But I can't see the rest. #

For a start it was McConnell meeting with Barr that started the federal investigation so he's a prize ****. The only point at which he's going to drop Trump is when he sees that there's more political capital for him in doing so. Until then it's all about the win.

The federal investigation can be viewed 2 ways tbh. Barr initially looks like a lap dog for the call BUT once it comes up with precisely **** all of note, he can both say that he tried to assist Trump to assert his claims, but that also he is confident that democracy has been upheld. It might well be much more canny on his part than it first appears.

He has to show that it has been investigated. The cases are being thrown out so far, but lets just see them past this hurdle.

If witnessed the public are to report to local FBI office, but they are deep state and trump has already put doubt in joe publics mind.

Ultimately, he is being a ****, but thats no surprise to people watching from outside. He offered a chance to break the political norm. But showed he has neither the skill or desire to serve.

That won't help. If McConnell and the Republicans go after Trump, then they become the Deep State, just as Fox has.
They know that they've helped to create a monster and they've got no intention of trying to rein it in.
They'll use the opportunity to spread conspiracy nonsense about the Democrats and stall everything through the Senate.

Half of the American population is living in a fantasyland and we're not far behind over here.
It doesn't matter what happens to Trump, as these people simply won't believe it.
They can show any kind of evidence that they like of wrongdoing and it'll be waved away as Fake News and a Deep State setup.

Yep that's how I see it, I posted something similar yesterday. The problem for Barr is that he's a public servant and the most senior in his field at that. He'll want to keep his job, whether it's Biden or Trump.
