Obama was born in Hawaii according to himself, a state since 59, he was eligible as he was born in the USA
So the question then becomes the definition of "a natural born citizen", which I did a bit of reading on and I think you and @PleaseNotPoll have a point, though it's not so clear cut, but I see where ye are coming from. My interpretation of natural born was incorrect
The Constitution fails to expand on the exact definition of “natural born Citizen." so that means a legal challenge by opposition would have to be settled in court
Further muddying the Constitutional waters, the Supreme Court has never ruled on the meaning of the natural-born citizenship requirement.
So it seems there is a real possibility for Cruz, but if it was challenged, the Supreme court would have to rule on it, or a constitutional amendment made, or both, court ruling followed by amendment
