Not so great odds on the senate either way, I have less faith in the republicans holding out, might throw a ton at it, suck and see

They had 100M postal votes so it might be the quickest election in history.

Unlike here they don't just call the final result but each sorta, county, of Florida is called individually so you can kinda tell how its going for each candidate in each state.

I think you will see the trend in Florida super super quickly and be able to make a judgement call as early as @Tobes said, 2 or 3 am
Some of the states aren’t even counting the postal votes until tomorrow, but I’d wager the result will be done and dusted by 6-7 am UK time.

The first result is likely to be Florida, who’ve been counting the early & postal votes before Election Day. The polls are now closing there and the result could come as early as around 3 am U.K. time.
Cheers, mate. I usually wake up about 6, will the winner be decided then or will I still catch the exciting bits (if its close)

If it’s really close it’ll potentially drag on all day tomorrow and maybe beyond mate. But I reckon you’ll wake up to the final knockings.

If it's close it will be going on for days if not weeks.

I don't care enough about it to stay up if it'll still be going on when I get up. Oh well, I'll brush my teeth before bed and see who's arsehole we'll be licking for the next however many years when I get up.

I've just had one bet tonight. Democrats to take Florida £20 @6/4. I've also got a previous bet of £150 on Biden @evens.

If 100 million people have voted by postal votes and they won't be declared for a few days, that's a third of the population.

Not a chance anyone is showing a conclusive/landslide win by tomorrow morning. This is going to go on and on...

We know the majority of the postal vote has gone to Biden, though?

If Florida goes Blue then your Biden bet is in - good shout to take him at evens btw.

Start of October mate, he was hovering on 10/11 for a while and then went to evens so I took the bet then. I'll be shocked if it's not Biden, I've already bought the bairn a Christmas present with the winnings lol

In theory but not officially.

That leaves 200 million (probably less given that includes children) across 50 States. I may be wrong but that's not enough to show a significant majority for anyone by tomorrow morning.

Some are counted early, and it’s only the swing states that’ll govern the winner. It was called around 6-7 am UK time in 2016, as I was up early and driving over to a meeting in the NW in the snow, so it’s stuck in my head.

They were saying on the news before that the college vote is right up this time compared to hilary/trump and that's another big plus for Biden. I don't know what that means apart from it sounds good <cheers>

Democrats have just went into 11/8 for Florida. My 20 quid must have sent shockwaves through the industry.

One of the dudes on US discord "we've been putting down ghost buster traps around our house in Detroit to keep BLM away if Trump wins" <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

not get it? think of another word for Ghosts <laugh>

This year it's a ridiculously higher amount on the postal vote than 2016.

That's true about the swing States but not enough for Trump to concede imo.

It depends how many have counted their postal votes. Lets say the postal votes are in and counted for Florida and he loses this, BUT if the other States haven't counted their postal votes then on the night, the remaining "in person" votes won't show a massive majority for anyone. Will anyone concede in that scenario? I don't think so.

Get ready for more of this kinda **** as the night wears on
