Yes, and he's faithfully stood by Trump's side for four years... But didn't want to get caught up in treason for leading the coup so now he's a bad guy.

To be honest, he's probably in more danger than anyone else there. He's the bad guy du jour for Trumpers.

Would hate for him to have his limbs ripped off as part of this.

The thing is, if something happened to Pence, Trump could install a new yes man for the last few days and get him to commit the treason for him.

On top of that, he would spin it as the democrats attacking Pence and use that as justification to take power.

If someone was working for another country to divide America, how happy would they be with this?
Lets say, just for the sake of argument, that it was Russia. You know, hypothetically...

I don't think that they can install another VP now. They'd have to vote on it and there's no time to do so.
It would go to Nancy Pelosi or something, IIRC.

That’s the worry, isn’t it? It wasn’t Julius Caesar who stole the Roman Republic, he just started the job which his nephew Octavian completed.

Well before Caesar you had Marius and Sulla who set the stage. Sulla was the first dictator, even before Caesar.

What made him lead his coup? He lost his election and didn't want to give up power so he lead his army into Rome and into the senate.

... Sounds a little familiar.

Actually they had an office of Dictator, a temporary position initiated by the Senate during times of crisis. Sulla wasn’t the first dictator, but you’re right that he was the first to refuse to surrender that office.

First dictator without time limit, although he did eventually retire. It was consul the position he held at the time that he lost, which was the highest rank he could hold.

The main difference between Sulla and Trump of course, is Sulla wasn't a chickenshit hiding at home whilst his people did his work. He led his army to take over Rome.
You have to remember the links between Trump and the likes of Erik Prince, though.
The Blackwater/Academi twat had a bunch of his war criminals pardoned the other day and he's been involved in this **** from the start.
How many of the armed terrorists in that building are just fruitcakes and how many are being paid to be there?

Interesting suggestion. If ever proved to be what's actually happening, I don't think anyone could legitimately complain about Trump going to jail for that. (Or worse... That would be treason, which in the US carries the death sentence)

It's not going to stop here. This is going to be a long night for America.
The fruitcakes across the nation are going to see these scenes and repeat them.
Whoever failed to prepare for this and hasn't dealt with it is going to swing.

The crazy thing is, I remember people saying even before Trump got elected in 2016 how it would end up like this. There were comparisons with Mussolini and other fascist rhetoric and anti democracy during the primaries.

The guy was talking about how he would censor the media and other anti-constitutional things before he even took office.

We've known for 5+ years exactly where he was going to take this.

People should have been ready.

Have to admit mate, thought I'd seen it all in my life, but Trump is a whole new chapter, the guy is a fooking raving lunatic. I'd say can't someone shoot him, but it would start a civil war, if he hasn't already started one, and even America don't deserve that. It brings shame on them and countries like China and North Korea will be laughing themselves stupid over this.

The problem is, all the gun nuts and crazy gun people all like him.

If Trump was equally batshit but in a leftist kinda way, I'm sure he would have been assassinated by now. <laugh>
