"The way in which he was treated, both by the Club, and some on here, left a sour taste in my mouth."

Most fans have wanted to move on, because as you agreed, he's gone. So if our current manager has done any good things & the one's that 'have' moved on, have rejoiced in it, you can see the resentment of the one's aggreived by Laudrup's removal from the club. It's continually plain to see!! They don't seem to want to accept any forward progress under the current manager. Even on threads not directly related to performances, there are snidey posts/comments over Monk. It's effin tiring mate, that's what probably get's the back-up of the 'reasoned fans', not the all-out Monk backers!! It's like, give the guy a chance ffs...

Also, don't presume I don't accept that fans' have opinions, points of view etc, which may not comply with mine. I don't always agree with my own Swans' following mates. But one thing for certain, we're always united in getting behind the current manager & the team. Doesn't mean we won't slag his faults, but we'll discuss how he'll possibly move on from them, than basically just want/wait for him to fail. Looks like we must be having 'democratic' discussions after-all...

Well said flying! I see your starting to get the drift ..................<laugh>

Nowadays the Swans have got no real reason to fear the Arsenal, but to say we SHOULD beat them Sunday is ridiculous!! On their day, which is still more the case than not, they are still a class act. We will do well to contain Alexis alone, no matter the whole team. I'm hoping the Swans can do them, but certainly not expecting!! It's all part of your agenda Bob, to state we should beat them, so if we don't get at least a point, or in your case that'll change to a win, you can slaughter Monk & the team...

No agenda just my opinion.
But could I suggest before you start your twisted pontificating about other people's reasons for sharing an OPINION you read what is written:-

'Arsenal is a team teams like Swansea are beating this season - we should win ... draw would be ok, I'd be happy with seeing us attempt to play football irrespective of result at this stage'

Had I written I'd be happy if we play well but lose (as you seem to imply will happen ... lose that is) you might have decided to have a go about that.

When Monk does well and players play well I will hold that opinion.
If Monk screws up or players play poorly I every right to hold that opinion but 'slaughter' them ? That's just insulting.

Don't you think Monk has done well so far Bob? 15 points from our first 10 games suggests he has.

I will repeat for the benefit of the deliberately argumentative

points good - but we've thrown points away to teams even Garry Monk has said we SHOULD have beaten.
position good
performances - mixed occasional flashes of our old brilliance but a lot of poor performance, overly defensive and we sit back on leads and so allow other teams to steal points off us.
Monk inexperienced, I don't want him sacked but believe he needs some better advice than he's getting.
The reason I'm not going overboard for Monk is because he still has much to prove.

Your really suckin up a storm today phil....lol....I think 3 might fit first team of the 8 listed Whitey...regardless , given Arsenal's committments , having 8 listed guys injured hinders Wengers ' choices .

Yep, they're almost down to the Under 21's with only this lot available.............

Schezny, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Chambers, Gibbs, Flamini, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis Sanchez, Cazorla, Welbeck

Subs: Martinez, Monreal, Wilshere, Rosicky, Walcott, Campbell, Podolski

So I guess theyre better off having 8 Injured players , who would have known...

Giroud, Debuchy, Ozil, Koscielny, Ospina, Diaby, Arteta

Put those 7 into the squad below (and take 7 out) - and see how far you strengthen it.

3 Games in 8 days with 8 injuries , whats not to understand Shakespere ...if you want to pretend it doesnt hinder them fill your boots .Cant explain it any better ... cheers

They've got a Champions League squad with Champions League players right through the Club. They are almost interchangeable. Ozil is the big name injury but he has hardly been setting the world alight this season. Even though they have 7 or 8 injuries their team is hardly weakened for it (if at all!)

So if we beat Arsenal tomorrow it doesn't count, just like the Utd victory because they've got these injuries and played 3 games? Arsenal, bar one CB, will have their strongest side out against us tomorrow.

..and we've got one CB out (Amat) and a certain Mr Leon Britton.

NB: Don't to go the Liberty tomorrow Valley - we're playing on Sunday!

I thought it had gone past midnight and was now Saturday, that's why I said tomorrow <whistle> ;)
