Im afraid wishful thinking wont get us out of our end and taking more shots flyer , but hope your right.

Not wishful thinking Breezy. I don't normally feel positive about any Swans' match, believe me & that's not a recent thing, that's been me, all my time supporting the Mighty Swans!! Just feel Arsenal will suit us Sunday, they'll come to play & not 'park' like most, could get us the space we need to exploit...

Bony do ya stuff...

My biggest plus against Arsenal is they have 8 players out.Another " good timing"" game against a top club , lets see if we can advantage if flyer

Is that right, roof? Would like to see the Arsenal team lineup as it may have an effect on my prediction. But they are a decent side whichever way you look at it. Their ability to counter attack is frightening at times.

Last week I checked out a post on their board about their upcoming games and most of the posters were concerned about this fixture so let's hope they're right.

Arteta ,Kolscielny ,Ozil ,Giroud ,Sanogo ,DeBuchy , Ospina and Diaby. Also , Walcott comes back for his first start of the seasob and Wilshore returns from sickness .Not sure who replacements are but thats a heap of hurt in the squad, good for us though

This article doesn't break down the stats per game but conceding an average of 15 shots per game does back up Roofs comments.

We are certainly showing more steel and resolve this year but we have only played 2 of the 'top' teams. Against Everton last week the halftime possession stats were 70:30 to them...which was shocking to me given our supposed Swansea Way of possession football.

In shoring up our defense I think we are losing some key aspects of our game. While there have been moments of great soccer in some games, it has been few and far between, and for the most part I'd say our play has been sloppy and pedestrian. I've seen way too many missed and speculative passes already this season and we are only 10 games in. This does not reflect the Swansea Way which Monk was going to instill again.

This is more like the team we'll be facing I suggest Roof.

Cazola**Wilshere/Ramsey**Flamini**OxChamberlain

with Walcot on the bench I expect

Pretty decent team, still think its lucky for us Roof?

I'll be very happy grinding a point, thrilled with a dirty win but I suspect we'll see more of our Plan A until we need to flip on Sunday.

This is the likely team by all accounts. Hope I'm wrong but I have us down as a 0-2 loss based on the fact that to hurt Arsenal you have to hit them quickly. We don't play like that and are too slow in the build-up. That'll suit them.

Given their results, our results and previous performances against each other (I recall being in control for most of our home game last season but losing to two goals from four Arsenal attacks) this is a game we should win.

Their results and our results - they are above us in the table.
Previous performances against each other - They have beaten us more times than we have beaten them
This is a game we SHOULD win. - I'm not sure how you can come to that conclusion. We have a good chance of winning, but I can't see how you can say we SHOULD beat one of the top sides in England and Europe.

They are 2 points above us but we are at home. That equates to the points we threw away against Southampton or Newcastle & Sunderland or Stoke.
Arsenal have also lost at home to Southampton, and dropped points against Hull, Leicester, and Spurs and Everton who are below us.
They played midweek and have a lot of injuries.
Just because they have beaten us before is meaningless. Psychologically we should not fear them as games have been close and we have beaten them.
Given our position, points and how fantastic some people consider we are, together with other factors ... we should win.
And if we have aspirations to continue to considered a top 8 team
Arsenal is a team teams like Swansea are beating this season - we should win ... draw would be ok, I'd be happy with seeing us attempt to play football irrespective of result at this stage.

Playing at home is an advantage but we have only won once in four attempts since we got promoted to the PL:
Sun 15 Jan 2012 – Swans 3 – 2 Arsenal (PL)
Sun 06 Jan 2013 - Swans 2 – 2 Arsenal (F.A. Cup)
Sat 16 Mar 2013 – Swans 0 – 2 Arsenal (PL)
Sat 28 Sep 2013- Swans 1 - 2 Arsenal (PL)

They may have injuries, as we do, but they have a fantastic squad built over a period of 16 years playing at the top level in Europe. They played on Tuesday, which will be advantageous to us, but again they have quality in their squad to fill any gaps.

We have a great chance to give a good account of ourselves and possibly win, but when Swansea City fans say we SHOULD be beating teams like Arsenal it’s probably time for a reality check and a management of expectations

What is the point of supporting the swans if you dont think they are good enough to win ??? I know we can beat any premiership team on the day so i always think we can win whoever we play...

Nowadays the Swans have got no real reason to fear the Arsenal, but to say we SHOULD beat them Sunday is ridiculous!! On their day, which is still more the case than not, they are still a class act. We will do well to contain Alexis alone, no matter the whole team. I'm hoping the Swans can do them, but certainly not expecting!! It's all part of your agenda Bob, to state we should beat them, so if we don't get at least a point, or in your case that'll change to a win, you can slaughter Monk & the team...

Thinking we can win is different to thinking we will win. Of course anyone can beat anyone on the day but looking at their likely lineup I'd say we'll do well to get a point and brilliantly to get a win. Yes we can do it but as PGF says they are a top team.

Edit: Looks like PGF and I posted same time.
